Its a loophole in boxing that a lot of fighters exploit, thats why Arum had a non-rehydration clause in the contracts with cotto and Delahoya if memory serves correct but manipulating the scales is hardly something new.

I think the late Henry cooper actually weighed in at 168-175 against Muhammad Ali but cheated and used weights to get onto the heavyweight limit which is quite impressive considering he put Ali down.

because cotto is punch drunk, hes a combo away from ***** st and once hes on that st he's getting stopped. cotto is the 3rd popular fighter after floyd and manny but margo and pacman fights took him hell and back and i just think he has much more to offer.

You'd think they would have a more permanent solution for that. And yes, quite impressive by Cooper indeed, which just goes to show, anyhitng can happen in the ring, even Cotto beating Martinez.

So whihch is more admirable, taking the tougher fights or the 0 in the loss column. Why hasn't what some call around here "a once in a lifetime fighter" fought the likes of Pacquiao, Margarito, or even Cotto when he himself was undefeated? Oh that's right, I remember now, it was time for retirement.

I agree. Especially in the power and punch resistance. Pavlik was into the groove on his ass in rounds 4-8, but Sergio stood up to it and ruled the stretch after opening up the cuts

Dude can take a shot that's for damn sure

Really? a sport where there are 16 weight divisions with some only 4 pounds difference between them and 4 recognised world belts, 5 or 6 if you class the WBC ultra shiny diamond and WBA super duper belts with organisations that dont even follow their own rules would have a better system in place? :rofl

I love boxing but these things **** me off

Prime example being when Sugar ray Leonard fought Danny lalonde for the Light Heavyweight title at 168 pounds fighting also for the vacant WBC supermiddleweight title. . . . . :fire EXPLAIN THAT ****!

but back on topic true that anything could happen in the boxing ring, but honestly Miracles rarely happen and in Cottos case hed need God, Jesus, Muhammad, Ganesh, Ra, Zeus, Snv and Chuck norris to help him win this fight. Im sorry but as much as i love the guy Martinez detroys him

I tried searching dragonball z on google but it just came up with a bunch of pictures of cartoon dudes with ridiculous hair making out.

    I'm no good at google.

Have you seen martinez in person and next to cotto, the guy is a lot bigger, faster and stronger than cotto. PAC, Floyd and cotto would all get KO by martinez in any weight from 154 up. Only chances is if they fight at a lower weight and martinez comes in weak.

    :hat

Martinez would obliterate Cotto. Martinez is knocking out middleweights. Miguel Cotto is a one handed fighter who only has the jab and the left hook, Martinez would punish and stop him.

Arum kept Cotto and Margarito (when he won the title)away from Paul Williams for a reason. No way would he put them in there with a guy that ruined Williams career.

Cotto should stay what he's been doing his whole career, picking up wins against past there best B level opponents.
