Surely there are bigger fights for him at Welterweight , He is still a big name at Welterweight:think

Sees it as an easy way to pick up a belt against a non puncher would be my guess.

I usually take it as a bad sign when a fighter is moving up a division when they can comfortably make the one they are in.... but i guess we will see. Nothing wrong with going up and capturing a title and then try to lure Pac into a rematch at 154 i guess. Or he might just want to try and become a three weight title holder.... who knows.

Simple, he thinks he sees a belt holder he can beat in a fight that would make him a three-weight world champ. I agree with Little Pea, he'll be back to 147 for the bigger fights afterwards.

He's having a match to build his confidence after two brutal loses. Taking away his opponent's belt gives his career some "progress".

    Because he's fighting a light-hitting belt-holder!

Because currently there's two or three guys that likely beat him at welterweight.

And there are two guys at 154 who will likely beat his brains in.

He thinks it's a calculated risk.

I think his abacus is broken.

Probably, but there are some guys at 154 he can beat, and not take heat for fighting, whereas most any interesting fights at 147 are against B-level guys or guys that would probably beat him. Pac would, Mosley would, Mayweather would...doesn't leave him a whole lot of options for big fights, and any fight he took would be a step down from his previous competition.

because he feels like yuri is an easier fight than any of the top guys at welter.. plus winining another belt at another weight will raise his legacy....

Foreman should be an okay fight for him, Foreman is a non-puncher and the amount of money on the line is more than sufficient for that level of risk. But really at Welter there isn't an easy fight for him, He gets beat down by Mayweather, Pacquiao starches him again, Mosley is 50/50, and I think Berto TKO's him. And of the guys he can beat nobody wants to see them again, i.e. Josh Clottey and Zab Judah.

Beat Foreman then fight Berto at 147. Good schedule.
