Why is Cotto vs Margarito considered such a dangerous fight for Cottto.

He is powerful, has a granite chin, and never stops punching and pressuring. Cotto will have to outbox him to win bc he will not stop Margarito. Cotto has a weak chin and is going to get hit a lot in a 12 round fight.

I still think Cotto finds a way to win but it is going to be an absolute war.

 

I couldn't agree more he's very overhyped here if it wasn't for his size he wouldn't be **** at 147.
If you use movement and don't stand in front of him he's lost, he has no plan b. If Cotto boxes he should beat Margo easily.

 

CUFreeze, u have no idea wheather cotto can knock margo out or not. IMO i think he can! its not just 1 knock out punch, he throws a flurry of punches and all with power! i think he can ko/tko margo!

 

i dont fink margarito is as good or as dangerous as every1 is making him out to be. fair enough he has high work rate but he couldnt even do a number of paul williams who aint that dangerous himself after all. btw that fight was a lame performance by margarito.

on the other hand cotto i see as dangerous. he smashes cheek bones shatters ribs and makes people quit and humiliates them. and he kicked mosleys ass hu is very quick fighter himself.

the way i see it cotto will win UD if margarito uses his head as doesnt brawl with him. cotto will win by ko (bodyshot) if margarito tries to be a hero and fight him toe to toe. remeber ricardo torres lol

 

Margo IMO is considered one of the "hardest" men in the fight game, his lack of technical skill is far surpassed by his will, heart, strength and determination. Margo is a utility man made from the rawest materials on earth therefore justifying his tough man status. Sure he can be beaten and outboxed and I expect Cotto to do so, but you'd be considered a fool if you thought Margo was a push over, bait waiting to be hooked and left out as a sacraficial lamb for Cotto before a potential PBF bout. Margo is arguabely the 3rd best WW at the moment and Cotto is merely thinning out the playing feild to set up the decades biggest fight....next to Hoya vs Tito.

 

No doubt that Cotto is the better boxer...but he will NOT knock out Margo and will have to fight that man for 12 rounds. At some point in the fight COTTO WILL GET HIT BIG! We know cotto has a very weak chin so we will see how he reacts. It would not shock me one bit to see Cotto get KOed.

You can't be serious. I think you're letting your bias prevent you from making a fair and balanced assesment of Cotto.

 

dude i am not knocking cotto at all...everyone who has watched his fights knows he has a weak chin. that is really common knowledge there.

he will get hit A LOT in this fight...we will see how he reacts.

for the record i am pulling for cotto and hope he wins and fights Mayweather next.

I certainly hope he enjoys DLH-Mayweather 2. The rest of us will be watching Cotto-Margarito.

 

Reg this is like me saying "Yeah Floyd got roughed up and kicked around the ring in his first fight with Castillo then Corely had hugging the ropes and doing a chicken dance....he moves up and can't even knock out a punching bag Gatti gets dropped by Zab and outboxed for a couple rounds and then runs a marathon around the ring fighting Baldomir and DLH but they give him all this credit.
