Why is Cotto vs Margarito considered such a dangerous fight for Cottto.

If Margarito loses ... hey he was supposed to lose he already had 5 L's on his resume and Cotto was undefeated ... but if he wins there will be many questions surrounding Cotto ...

 

If Cotto is as good as I think he is, it isn't dangerous, he'll win with something to spare. Everything you can think about, Cotto has the edge. Jab, speed, boxing skill, footwork, defence. Margarito only really has a chin and size in this fight, it shouldn't be an issue, the superior boxer should win out

It will be another contender down, and one less excuse for Mayweather

 

is simple margarito has a great chin super stamina does not stop trowing punches and imo cotto is the better boxer of the two but he will have to trade whit margariot ar some point and margarito will put that chin to the test i also notice cotto cant take a body punch as we saw in his figth whit mosley

 

with all do respect i have to disagree with you ya Mosley is a better fighter but Margo style is much more danger's for cotto then Mosley. countless presser with weird angels. and lot of upper cut and crazy Punch's from every were.

 

i relly don't now why people r under estimating Margo the guy is always competitive in every fight ya he lost to PW but it just was i awkward fight for him but if they fought agane i think Margo would make the necessary adjustment to win the fight.

 

no doubt in my mind Margarito would beat PW in a rematch

Also, his loss against Santos was very questionable, even though Santos came in the ring at 170lbs

Margarito is a good fighter. He is not on the class of Cotto, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Calzaghe, etc but he is very solid and if Cotto has an off night he is gonna be in deep ****

B/c Marg is a serious fighter. He can bang and box....His physical advantages will be serious trouble for Cotto. The height and reach of Marg will offer a new look and style that Cotto is not use to.

Beating Cintron twice isn't anything to be over excited about...you are correct. But the WAY he dismantled and destroyed him does demand respect.

That isn't the only thing....Marg has destroyed MANY A and B level fighters...Fighters that were undefeated, very well respected and quality opponents. Marg is a very avoided fighter so the big names won't agree to fight him, so while he doesn't have any BIG names, he's been throughly consistant and dominating with whom decide to take that chance with him.

Marg has problems with BOXERs...not guys who like to BANG like cotto. Clottley has a very crafty and elusive style. He has problmes with movers. Cotto will be right in front of him...regarding Williams....Williams was unrelenting that night as he usually is. I have no idea what happend to him with Quintana but Paul didn't look like the guy who beat Marg convingingly although it was a competitive fight.

You'll see Marg beat Quintana this weekend so most fans will be able to chalk up that loss at the hands of Carlos to a "BAD NIGHT". Cotto will also loose IMO when he faces Marg.

thats the main reason why im not too big on Margo. he is exciting to watch and fights his ass off but i dont have much respect for fighters who blow up 15+ pounds after their weigh-ins.

someone really needs to do something about that.

 

Can't really do anything about that b/c it's a double edged sword.....a fighter who struggles to get down to a certain weight class can have that bite them in the ass b/c you struggle and FIGHT before your actual fight to make the weight....Which ends up causing you to be weak and drained. You may be bigger but you tend to be sluggish or lacking the nutrients vital to preforming at a level necessary to compete.

 

That's part of the sport. It's not like he is cheating to cut weight, Margo trains his ass off to loose the pounds to make the appropriate weight. Many fighters but on some serious pounds afterwards as they try to replenish the nutrients and hydration lost during the training. And you have no respect for him because of this?

I think this fight excites fan's because people want to see how Miguel can change up his attack against a fighter with constant pressure while still landing his own shot's, Margo is no one punch knockout puncher either but since Cotto''s move to WW Margo will rep his biggest test. (SM is not WW)

Margo v.s. ANYONE is a very dangerous fight for ANYONE. Period.
