Because people are putting too much stock into his recent victory over Cintron, a guy who he just owns mentally and in the ring. Cintron is limited to begin with. But prior to that, he lost to Williams and was getting outboxed by Clottey up until he hurt his hand.

I expect Cotto do outclass Marg clearly. There is a very clear difference in talent and boxing skill.

exactly, most of these clowns who pretend AM is not a threat are simply Fraud Groupies who hate him for exposing their hero as the coward he is.

Williams beat Margarito 7-5, it was a tough fight for Williams.

Clottey "schooled" Margarito for like the first 1/3rd of the fight.

Yeah, yeah, Clottey said he hurt his hand. Didn't Margarito have an injury too?

Margarito is a very good fighter and has only gotten better since his loss to Paul Williams last year IMO. Instead of starting slow like he used to, he starts throwing bombs right off that bat and that makes him a lot more dangerous. And plus, he has a great chin and has amazing stamina. He would cause any fight problems IMO.

In many ways this is Cottos first real test. Zab had already lost twice and to Baldomir of all people, it was expected that any young gun should take him.
Mosely was older and not quite at the peak of powers and while still formidable Cotto never the less squeaked by on a close decison. He did so while resorting to his bicycle in the later rounds with Mosely the old guy coming foward wanting to slug it out.

Margarito represents a rugged challenge, a guy in his prime who is not going to be easily discouraged and has a granite chin. Margo is a huge welter. Cotto has been hurt by less rugged foes and well the question as to his ruggedness, chin and physical toughness are still out there. Margarito will bring these liabilities to bare. How will Cotto respond to the Challenges posed by Margo.

I have no doubt as to Cottos heart he proved that to me at 140 when he was almost out on his feet and came back to win. I do question his physical toughness and Chin, can he take it and mix it up in a pier 6 brawl with a tough and strong unrelenting foe who has the height and reach advantage also possibly the weight advantage on fight night.

Cottos weakenesses play right into Margos strengths :Cottos Chin, Cottos Stamina, physical toughness all these challenges to Cotto, forget about boxing skill this isnt what this challenge is about. We need to see what happens when Cotto has to go to Warrior mode with a bigger stronger unrelenting granite chinned Mauler. Not many have to ever answer such questions in a career and therefor retire and are never truly considered graduates of Geatness this is a another test and in many way Cottos first real challenge as it will finally answer many questions about Cotto. Will Miguel Cotto pull it out?

I wouldn't say it would be dangerous fighting Margarito, but a challenging one where you have to be prepared to fight for all 3 minutes each round.. If Cotto fights smart and boxes Margo, he'll win.. I wouldn't say he couldn't knock Margo out though, as there is always a possibility..

Because anyone who has boxed or knows a lot about the sport knows that Margarito is legit. He lacks defense, but he doesn't care. He comes to brawl and seems to be able to turn boxing matches into brawls. In a brawl anyone can lose.

I still think Cotto will win, UD or late TKO with Margarito's face being unrecognizable.

Margo is an average fighter. He isnt fast, he isnt poweful despite what some would have you believe, he is easy to hit. He has a high workrate, that hasnt worked for him vs the better fighters that he has faced. Cotto will beat the **** out of Margo, and he will become even more hyped because I dont think that Cotto will be able to get him out of there. Some ppl will claim him sooo tough and brave. Margo is one of the biggest hype jobs in the past 10 to 15 years. And as you stated it all started with Floyd rejecting his offer to fight Oscar instead.
