jesus I have never seen a world champion as slow as Garcia. Imagine a prime Ray Leonard or hear against Garcia. Garcia probably gets knocked out within three rounds.
Which is the main reason I see his career ending @ 147 . Hes already slow to begin with , adding 7 more pounds is definitely not going to benefit him at all . Fighters like Porter , Malignaggi , Brook would beat him down .
Damn I forgot all about Khan , Yes him too who has carried his speed up with him to 147 . He would put on a clinic against Swift this time around .
Definitely . Timing does neutralize speed . Yet Garcia's timing sure did not help him against Herrera .
Khan was clumsy to get caught by garcia but he's fast enough to beat all he's fought so far. ...so surely he's not as slow as you might think. ....!
I could only begin to imagine the OP's and his followers confusion as to how Garcia even hits anyone...lol.
He keeps himself grounded wide and looping shots... Tend to find fighters who can punch throw with power are slower...as is the case with Garcia...
Tyson threw with power and he was three times faster than Garcia. Thurman throws with power as well, and he's faster than Garcia. I'm not saying Fanny Garcia sucks, but jeez for a guy who throws punches that slow, you would think he would have more knockouts.
You are always gonna look slow when you are making a conscious decision to throw after your opponent does. It all but guarantees his opponent beats him to the punch but as a trade off, it heavily increases his odds of landing. He can then make up for getting beat to the punch by throwing heavy punches that just beat his opponent up.
Herrera's style isn't conducive to being timed. Garcia isn't that slow (definitely isn't fast despite the nickname though). He plants and counters with power, it works. Eventually when he's banging up against bigger guys it won't.
I'm going to do something out of character for me and defend Danny, Herrera made him look bad, because that's what Herrera does, I've been a fan of his since the Ruslan match and knew he'd give Danny a hard time. Just because Danny struggled with a awkward pain in the ass like Herrera who is impossible to look good against is a testament to how good Herrera is, not evidence of how bad Danny is. Danny is very good and is being written off far too easily on this site. Danny has the power and the timing to be a force at WW and could probably beat most of the main guys not named Floyd or Manny or at least give them a tough match.
