Not really. Amir's is equally bad if not worse, he's been hurt even more frequently. Willie Limond can't punch **** and had him down for 10 seconds, old ass Gomez cuffed him with a terrible shot, Prescott knocked him spark out. On what grounds is that 'better'?

I would say the way Haye survived the knockdown against Mormeck, and came back to stop him, (brutally, I may add), showed us his chin can't be that bad. He shook the effects off pretty quickly. If he's chin was that bad, he wouldn't have survived.

Compared to Herbie Hide's chin, or even Enzo Macc's, David Hayes whisker's look decidedly "reasonable". I doubt very much whether he would survive a right hand to the temple from either of the Klitchkos', but he did take some decent shots from Barrett.

He's punch resistance is average, I would say, not "awful".

Haye does not have a great chin, he even admits this himself. However, he does not have a glass chin. People citing the Lolenga Mock knockdown would do well to watch the Sven Ottke KO of Anthony Mundine - being a light puncher, even against someone with a good chin, does not mean you cannot get lucky and KO your opponent. The punch that Mock landed on Haye was similar in principle to the one Ottke landed. They both put everything behind it and their opponents were just in precisely the wrong place, at the wrong angle, and with an utter lack of defense at the wrong time.

The Thompson fight was more to do with Haye's exhaustion that anything else, he was like a zombie in the round before the stoppage...the commentator's even mentioned this.

The Mormeck fight, it was a pretty good shot that landed, and the wobbling in the corner was partly down to slipping on the advertising boards apparently.

That said, Haye is not Oliver McCall, and he never will be, but he is not as bad as some make out.

^That above is correct. If Haye's jaw was 'grade A china',he'd have been KO'd by now for sure regardless of the fact that he has good reflexes. That said his chin isn't great

A key fact often overlooked:good. Can you believe there is a troll for one who is supporting Khan. Wonders will never cease.

Mocks fight previous to Hayes was at 168 if im correct.

Haye is chinny, he was a massive guy at cruiserweight and he was still being hurt and put down, now he is playing with the big boys he mat not have the chance to get back up.

Also even Haye himself admits his chin isnt concrete.

He's labeled chinny because he has a vulnerable defense and thinks his chin is made of granite but in reality its average at best. An average chin guy like him should not trade toe to toe yet he does. Sooner or later he will get caught. He better not fight too many fights and retire after the next 2-3 fights as he promised.
