Why is Deontay Wilder not a mainstream heavyweight star like Mike Tyson was?

Holmes was never as gun shy as that version of Wlad, and he didn't depend on always being in his comfort zone so he was more adaptable. I'd pick 35 year old Holmes over any version of Fury.

If AJ were American he`d be a household name right now. He has a perfect ko rate including the ex hw champion of the world. Imho AJ is the best of the hws right now and im not a AJ ccksucking Brit.

Tyson had that thrilling style and magic.

    Beyonce has neither.

I'm all but certain that's not the case. I thought at least szpika, Washington and of course the former wbc title holder would be included in those top 10's. There was a former, (key being former) school teacher who was ALSO at worst top 10, considering after being ktfo by dw hee was then ktfo by Aj a couple years later.

You clowns and all your myths about him never fighting top 10 opponents has been shattered beyond ever being repaired.

Tyson, better balance but mentally not 1/1000th of what dw packing. And going off only stats and facts, dw proven beyond any reasonable doubt that he hits way harder and had better punch resistance. Tyson gets hurt, he loses, 100% oh the time.

Another myth, dw been hurt left and right, even if that had any tiny bit of truth, that means dw has a great chin, great recoup abilities and proven to be of the highest level mentally.

All great attributes dw has proven time and time again to you hater/trolls.

Enough is enough, start spreading some more myths that I'll eagerly shatter

I'd love to see this myth of a fighter you refer to.
His name is usually "prime" Tyson, which truly lasted a whole entire 4 years.

Fyi: Tyson was very far from a great boxer, very far the opposite way. I wouldn't expect most of you to understand the difference between substance and hype.

Tyson was ALL hype, and knowing him huge limitations, he still couldnt fulfill any of his promise. Single most over rated hw EVER

You don't know much about boxing if you think your statement is accurate. Probably explains why most of your posts are in the general section.[/QUOTE]

I know far too much to be wasting my time with one who truly believe Tyson to be a top 5 atg hw, sickeningly laughable

Thst homles and that wlad can't ever never be compared. One was totally out of shape, ROUND coming out of the buffet breakfast to take a $$$ fight.

Wlad was an active hw, by far biggest banger ever. Hurt Aj massively and bombed on his chin and head for 5 straight minutes. Coming back from that would had been hugely impressive for any fighter.

Especially since I figured it was over after wlad landed the best shot any hw ever got off the floor from to go on and WIN.

Don't ever troll Aj trying to compare him with thst myth. That myth would ONLY be good for the possible tko, he doesn't score that and all he is good for is taking a one sided beating.

Way too many on here had bought into that Tyson myth. I grew up watching Tyson, he always had more going against him than for him, because he couldn't truly box to save his life.

He brought excitement, what we all know is I'd tysons career was during social media times he'd be nothing but a dispised sideshow act..

This. I actually like Wilder, but he is no Mike Tyson. Tyson after winning the WBC belt immediately unified with Bonecrusher Smith, who stopped Tim Whitherspoon to get the WBA belt. That same year he unified with Tony Tucker, who was coming off a knockout win over Buster Douglas for the IBF belt.

People call Douglas a Bum, but when he was in shape and had his mind right he could give anyone problems. He has the same reach as Wilder, a better jab, and fought much better opposition.

Active HW? What part of him being out of the ring for 18 months did you miss? Or him suffering an injury in that time zone? Or it being his farewell bout before retirement whereas Larry went on to be competitive with top contenders after Tyson smoked him?

I was quoted saying that AJ/Wlad would look like Tyson/Holmes II BEFORE the fight happened, whereas you were probably going on about how Wlad wouldn't last more than 2 rounds. The only troll here is you.

KO4 over 38 year old Holmes>>TKO11 over 41 year old Wlad

Wilder will only fight winos from the alley, he has had five voluntary title defenses in a row. You can't get respect from boxing fans by fighting winos and avoiding the best fighters out there.......................

that's what Hughie Fury is hoping for.

to get a home cooked decision.

Boxing would suffer if he became a World champion because 1) he's not very active 2) he has a boring style 3) he would defend vs bums

simply put, Fury would not make for an interesting champion. he just would be a titlist.
