Why is DLH only a 2/1 favorite over Pacman?

Oscar beat Vargas as a 3-1 favorite.

He beat whitaker, camacho, JCC in fights I'm guessing had fairly close odds.

    Yes you ARE missing something.

Lacy is a never was. Taylor is a proven top fighter in his prime.

Pac is a proven p4p top fighter in his prime. De La Hoya is a past it fighter.

The bookmakers have lost their tiny minds, I would make DLH a 30/1 favourite being kind because I quite like Pac.

On the contrary there are VERY few who thinks that way!

I'm giving PAC 20% ULTRA MAX chance of winning.. So odds should be 5:1 or less 7:1 if I'll be more realistic!

Pac is getting a lot of credit for his ring accomplishments and DLH is getting older, slower and less active.....or at least that is the perception by many. I think DLH will KO PAC but I hope we see something amazing from PAC on Dec 6th. I'm not counting him out but I'm expecting the worst for him.

They realize Pac is not fighting a prime Dlh or a fighter like a prime Antonio Margarito. They realize Pac is facing a 35 year old Dlh coming down to his lowest weight in 8 years. They realize the reality of the situation lol...

Just look at some of these other lines right now.

    Calzaghe -270
    Hatton -200
    Abraham -1100
    Taylor -550

Wouldn't you say that Paulie has a LEGIT shot at beating Hatton? And i think 2/1 is fair.

DLH/Pacman is a fight that most thought would be absurd up until a year ago before Merchant mentioned it. Now it's just a 2/1?

I just posted a thread about fighters moving up in weight and winning. Some great examples where Shane Mosley beating a prime Delahoya.

"Jimmy McLarnin is probably most similar to Pacquiao. Started out early at Flyweight, moved through several other divisions, and became Welterweight champion. Defeated a lot of great fighters along the way." -the cobra

"Duran, starting out at Bantamweight, dominating Lightweight for 7 years, Welterweight champion, Jr.Middleweight champion, and 17 years after he won the lightweight crown - Middleweight champion. He also beat Jorge Castro, a solid fighter, at Supermiddleweight when he was in his late 40's."the cobra

"Armstrong jumped from feather to welterweight and beat ATG Barney Ross
Guys like the Barbados Demon and Sam Langford did it on many occassion, also Fitzsimmons went from middle to heavy and won the titlt beating Corbett."- Minotauro

So how is this fight a joke?

Don't forget, Mayweather fell to under 2-1 against Hatton, when true boxing fans knew he should be 4-1.

It's the hype job. It's in everyone's interest to make this fight look closer than it is, 24/7 does a great job of it. TONS of money came in on Hatton since the masses we're convinced he had a shot, only smarts and pros bet on Mayweather.

Similarly, tons of money will come in on Pacquiao, with only the sharps and pros betting on Hoya.
