He hasn't fought since last year if I'm not mistaken and has no fights lined up. I know he's the mandatory to Wilder but usually the WBC dont really enforce the mandatory right away unless its Stiverne. Also, Brazeale has only fought twice since his loss to Joshua. That's mind blowing to me. That's pretty inactive. So what gives? Does anyone know anything regarding Brazeale?
He's been instructed by Haymon not to fight, because if he loses, the Wilder Bodyguard Council will have to receive another brown envelope to try and check mate Body Snatcher Whyte out of mandatory spot. Haymon only wants Wilder having mandated defences against inactive fighters, ergo Stiverne.
In a nutshell. They like him safely in that mandatory spot. If he becomes inactive in the meantime mores the better.
Maybe a better question is, why are 70% of Haymon fighters always on the shelf? Completely inactive in the prime of their careers? Answer - They have no promoter, let alone a good one. A lot of young impressionable guys sign with Haymon because of his association with Floyd, thinking they are going to be multi millionares promoting/managing themselves. They forget that Mayweather is a once in a generation fighter/talent, an is also a very good businessman in his own right. If im Breazeale, id sign with Matchroom USA/DAZN. Why not? 3 fights a year, good money, big fights, and they are in need of marque US heavyweights. Breazeale should take advantage of this opportunity, or just sit around doing nothing for another 2 years in his prime aging away while the clowns have their trilogy, bongsquad vs the jester king.
Good point. Since he was very fringe anyway, might be time to drop him from any top ten lists due to inactivity.
Yes you know how it goes don’t you?very much like Stiverne 2 Wilder will claim he doesn’t want Breazeale so will the networks and yet after all the shenanigans with Fury,Breazeale will step up on a two week notice.
He's doing what so many mandatory challengers seem to do and is just sitting on his mandatory until he gets his mandated shot at the title. WBC said Wilder has til the end of the year to face his mandatory. Not sure how Wilder/Fury possibly happening at the end of the year effects that, I guess they will pay Breazeale to step aside and face the winner.
Cuz he is mandatory for Wilders belt. Haymon knows Wilder beats him so he likes having one of his pawns in place and he will drag that out as long as possible and the more fights Brazeale takes the more chance he has of losing and being moved out of the WBC mandatory spot, maybe for a none Al Haymon fighter. Although that doesnt happen often.
Breazeale is probably the most oafish heavyweight i have ever seen, his contender status is a myth and the obliteration by Deontay Wilder will probably be his last notable ring experience considering his inactivity, he is desperate for the cash out fight.
Calling him a poor man's Riddick Bowe is an insult to Bowe. He's an under-the-bridge-dwelling schizoid hobo's Bowe, at best.
