Are you ******ed? Shavers didn't knock them out because they were better than him in terms of boxing skill. That does not make shavers not the hardest puncher they faced.

No i just find it odd, that someone claims to study boxing history, then turns up asking who Earnie Shavers was.

They are a bunch of incompetent Key Board Warrtors.

Shavers is up there with the hardest punchers of all time.Arguably the hardest puncher of ALL Time.Fighters gave hime tremendous respect, every time SHavers connected half decently ,he hurt. That is power.

I tend to believe guys who actually fought and stepped in the ring to judge punching power. Now there is no one who can compare LL, Wlad and Wilder but Holmes faced old Ernie and Peak Tyson so I gotta give it to the man.

I am amazed that SMPDNHAFCAB (so many people do not have a fuc.king clue about boxing) . . . they do not realize that punch hard does not always equate to getting a KO, there are so many factors involved.

 Its a boxing rule to always give credit to those you beat...To discredit those who owned you :yep

If Kovalev, Ward or Superbitch ever get KTFO so bad...They will also predictabley say Boone was the best puncher thry ever faced :deal

Peoople saying Shavers was a 'journeyman' and a 'bum ' are just parroting some false myth they heard from some other guy who knows nothing about boxing history.

Shavers could box and could box better than most guys around today. His major problem was being active in the best HW era in history. And he still ran through a great fighter like Norton in one round and was very competitive against prime Larry Holmes.

Shavers would be a top rated HW in todays weak era.

Nah, he was one of the top contenders of the 70s. I would compare him to Oleg in the 90s and 00s. He would have bad strings of losses than KO a top guy out of nowhere and be back in the mix.
