Why is Erik Morales so hyped up on this site?

Can't say I'd outright favor Morales against Floyd, but to answer the part of your question in bold: a stiff jab, an accurate and heavy overhand right (to loop over the shoulder), creative head-body combinations, excellent feints, deceptive timing, fleet feet on the offensive, and an ATG ability to absorb punishment and maintain composure under fire would all be tools that could help him win against the Floyd we've seen at the lighter weights.

floyd has the size advantage so wins head to head but Morales was in his prime at the same time as floyd & was regarded as about equal to floyd on the p4p lists (sometimes under, sometimes over) floyd had lesser fights at a similar age (Erik is a few months older) + had the better defense so took less damage & wear & tear, that`s why he is still on top now & Morales is a shell of himself.

Don`t forget that when both were prime, Morales fought in the tougher divisions & has victories over 2 prime real ATGs in Barrera & pacquiao.

Most people know Morales likely wouldn`t beat floyd H2H but they respect Morales & his career because he fought the fights the fans wanted to see at the time they wanted to see them... floyd gets disrespect because his actions are beneath his talent, he calls it being a `businessman`... I call it being a disgrace to boxing that has no respect for the fans or the sport that made him rich.

He also acts like a complete ****** outside the ring but I could live with that if he fought pacquiao... he didn`t tho, he`d rather make vids saying he`s better than Ali & Robinson while at the same time avoid fighting pacquiao... the irony is so funny its sad.

Maybe if you started watching boxing before 2011 you'd have an idea

Floyd is a level above Morales. His fights against Chavez and Famoso show this. Morales looked good in sports, but struggled.

Floyd looks absolutely Godly. Which he is in the ring.

Ahh the old triangle argument, how original

So I guess since Pac destroyed Barrera, and Barrera beat Morales, Morales couldn't possibly beat Pac right?:D

Or since Pac destroyed Hatton in 2 when it took PBF 10, then Pac would beat PBF right?

PBF also was big for a WW and Morales was small for a WW.

You cant really say that May is a level above Morales. I think Morales fought better opposition than May. He fought guys at their best...lost a few fights but thats because he took more risk.

In his prime, he was much lighter than Fliyd so that's indeed silly.

But I haven't seen too much hype here. Morales was an awesome fighter in his prime, and had his prime been at 130 he might have had a shot. He was better and smarter than Castillo at his best, and Castillo gave Floyd fits in their first fight.

Him and Floyd were prime at different weights. The reason why Morales gets a lot of respect is because he was a great champion, a warrior and entertaining to watch. There's nothing bad to really say about him. He's earned the respect he's got.

I disagree. I think Floyd fought better opposition. Over their careers Floyd has more depth in the quality of oppostion.

Floyd was in his orginial and best weight class while Morales was in his third and was considered past his best.:patsch

Oh and Chavez gave Floyd a tougher fight then he did Morales. And Morales dropped him twice.
