Why is ESPN....

Did you guys take the short, yellow bus to school or something? Nobody is complaining this fight is on ESPN. HBO AND SHOW CAN'T GET NEW SUBSCRIBERS TO SEE THIS FIGHT. NO NEW SUBSCRIBERS = NO NEW $$$$ FOR THESE NETWORKS.....GEEEZ!

It's not a marketable fight despite the fact that Vitali IS marketable. Nowadays it takes two to tango and JC Gomez hasn't exactly been hyped nor has he been on tv much.

It's got it's core market and that's it.

 

And you are worried about....the NETWORKS pocket change? Does that really bother you that ESPN might LOSE money on this? :huh

 

That's not my position, Lance. I could care less if these networks lose money. They lose money one day and profit the next. These networks certainly have more money than me so I don't care either way.

 

Better yet... I talked to Wlad. ESPN screwed up. ESPN has the wrong time for the fight... We (the states) had a time change, but Germany didnt, so as of now Germany is 5 hours (east coast) and 8 hours (west coast) ahead of us
They have it listed as 5pm eastern but it actually is 6pm (11pm in germany - 5 hours = 6pm eastern) and now ESPN says they have a conflict....IDIOTS:smoke:smoke

They told the camps they will work it out... but what a stupid mistakenut

 

they better fix that **** and show it live or I will be pissed.

 

horse****, they couldve made this a ****ing Event, instead of alotting 1 hr broadcast, they couldve had story, and undercard with byrd or thompson on it, and then the main even with intros...they dropped the ball

because showtime and HBO are a pain in the ass. I cant believe you guys are giving the fighters **** about being on ESPN... its a brilliant marketing move and is GREAT for boxing

 

There's nothing to hype here. All of the good hype was in Peter/Vitali...this is nothing more than a title defense. Gomez is unknown in the US with no fan base. Vitali is very popular but hasn't had a fight in the U.S in god knows how long and his fight against Peter was completely mis handled by showtime.

They're going out of their way to showcase a fight for us, the hardcore boxing fan. They did the same thing with Bell/Adamek and nobody complained about that.

Just be happy they picked it up.
