Why is everyone making a big deal about Guzman/Funeka???

First off, Guzman looked FAST and GREAT the first two rounds. He was landing crisp, hard shots. But Funeka is a slow starter as it takes him a couple of rounds to find his range but once he does, he uses his height well and starts going to work. That's exactly what he did in this fight. And Guzman had no answer. The height differential was too much.

Funeka would give ANY LHW hell given his height and decent skills.

If there are any real Guzman fans out there...they will be the first to tell you...that This was NOT the Guzman of recent memory. He was horribly out of shape and was Awfully SLOW!!!

Funeka looked terrible!!! If he steps into the ring with JMM, Anthony Peterson or even steps up to 140lbs against Marcos Maidana or Bradley/Peterson winner (or loser for that matter) Funeka would get DESTROYED!!!!

Its sad he got SCREWED with the Draw...But don't get too excited...he beat an out of shape and un-motivated Guzman.

I expect an early round KO vs THE ELITES OF THE 135LBS & 140LBS DIVISION.

An injustice is an injustice.... thats why people are making a big deal out of it. Nothing about funeka being elite or not elite or how he would matchup with anyone else or even do in a rematch, none of that matters.
People are making a big deal out about guzman/funeka because it wasnt right.

I think people are making a big deal about the Joan/Guzzy fight b/c everyone totally dismissed ALI and said Joan would win. So in essense Joan was overly hyped for being something HIS FANS made him out to be but ultimately never proved in the ring.

ALI is the best 135 lb fighter right now. Since Nate left and he gave Nate his toughest challenge it's safe to say Ali is #1....Diaz #2 and Joan #3. Decent division. Joan didn't look slow....he looked as fast as he always has. He actually LOOKED A LOT BETTER THAN PREVIOUSLY in the intitial 2 rounds.

Ali is unproven at 140 so that isn't even a discussion until he decides to test the waters at a higher wieight and we don't know if he can carry the weight at 140 effectively as he has done at 135.

Joan was highly motivated and was said to be in the very best sape of his life. By EVERYONE's words...Joan looked primed and ready to go and EVERYONE said Joan would outclass, outbox ect...ect.. ect.... I knew differently b/c I never bought the Joan Guzman hype.

There is an expression in Boxing: "When your a Tall Fighter...FIGHT TALL"

Guzman was able to Walk in close and "fight on the inside" WITH EASE...Absolutely NO resistance!!!

Tall fighters should never allow that to happen...Guzman,the much shorter fighter SHOULD'VE EATING JABS ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

And if Funeka is just going to let JMM, Anthony Peterson walk in close...ITS OVER!!!!

I can't get too excited about Valero...His resume is not that impressive and the few times I have seen him...there was nothing that "JUMP-OUT AND SCREAMED...UNBEATABLE."

Same goes for This fight coming up (Williams/Martinez)

Martinez has 45 fights...and there is only two names on the list anyone has heard of (Cintron & Margarito)...Draw with Cintron and TKO'd by Margarito.

Ali was dominating on the outside and did better work on the inside. Similar to Paul williams...>ALI can fight both ways....just not as dynamic as a Paul Williams. And YES...there was plenty of resistance by way of Ali's Jab!

Ali is promising..he has the ntarual physical attributes and a very solid fighter with great stamina. He'll do very well at 135 and own the division. 140 is not a discussion b/c he's not at Jr WW yet.

I've not seen the Guzman-Funeka fight, but there's no way the fully fit Guzman I know and love would have lost to Funeka
