Outisde of the fact that Margo is a disgraced fighter whose only noteworthy win now(unfairly in my opinon) has an asterik next to it, there are a few other things about Margo that makes this a questionable fight.

    1. Margo supposedly had a hard time making 147 against Mosley. He went over a year without fighting since then, and his recent fight was at 154. He says the Pac fight is the only one he's willing to go back to 147 for. Therefore, you really have to question if this guy can even fight at 147 without being seriously drained.

    2. Margo was destroyed recently by Mosley. People want to see Pac/Mayweather. If that fight doesn't happen, both fighters have to at least try to top eachother. Mayweather just fought Mosley and beat him with ease. How does fighting a guy who was destroyed by a guy Mayweather toyed with topping Mayweather?

    3. Along what was said in point no.2 , what is Margo's mental state? When guys get beat badly like Margo did, it can affect them mentally. Margo may not be the same fighter. He fought some scrub in his last fight and supposedly he was sticking and moving. We have no idea what will happen when he fights a live guy. The seek and destroy Margo that we once knew may be gone forever.

    4. Margo is not liscensed to fight in the U.S. He may not even get his licesne back if they try.

So to recap, people don't want to see this fight because we would be facing the prospect of Manny facing a drained, mentally damaged fighter who brings nothing to the table, and who isn't even liscensed to fight in the U.S. If the old Margo shows up and is 100%, it could be interesting. Otherwise, this could be another lopsided fight. I think we should at least see Margo in there with a live guy, at 147, before they try to match him with Pacquiao.

    Fair enough.

But I have to say that I feel like Margo hasn't been broken. He lost by TKO in the 9th. He was "destroyed" because he was able to take so much punishment. But I don't think Pac has the power, the defense, or the chin of Shane Mosely. And despite his qualities, Margo is still a live opponent who can give us a great fight.

I personally don't give a damn about all the hoopla surrounding a potential Pac/May fight. I think a Pac/Margo fight will be exciting as hell.

Arum's talk about Margo-Pac is just to get Ellerbe and company to think seriously and off of that "Floyd is not thinking about Pac" crap.

If Pac can walk away from Mayweather fight before, he can do it again.

Pac walked away once and fought Clottey in a stinker that made him 20M or so. Floyd turned around and beat Shane in a career-defining thriller and made $40M.

I don't think Floyd is really woried about Pac if that trend continues.

....so as Pac, I don't think is really worried if the Floyd fight happens or not. He has said numerous times that he doesn't feel like he has anything else to prove.

mayweather-mosley wasn't actually a career-defining thriller, after the 2nd round it was mostly a one-sided beatdown and a brilliant technical showcase by mayweather.

Your post illustrates seeing boxing and understanding what good boxing is are two different things. :think

My point exactly, good boxing does not always equate with a "thrilling"fight. Pretty simple stuff:deal

Great points, but many of which have been visited and minimized in Pac's current run. NONE of them stopped people from calling Pac the "Messiah" and/or Arum spoon feeding the boxing world syrup on ish and calling it pancakes.

It is like that one movie with Roddy Piper in it, "They Live". He can see the BS with his glasses but most people don't see anything and walk around oblivious. How many times have you seen an Arum/Roach talking point immediatly pop up as a "fact" on these boards. Hell now Mayweather's legs are shot.

If we see a Pac/Marg fight it will represent everything that is WRONG with boxing.
