How many people saw that coming? Seriously. Edgar totally outclassed Penn and did even better than in the first fight. He should get major props for that, no way can BJ have an excuse for both fights. Edgar was awesome, he should get major credit for shaking up the lightweight division.

I saw it coming..... well sort of.

penn declared by many "the best boxer in mma" even roach famously said he had the best boxing - guess what, he didnt.

he got outboxed against GSP also.

Penn is an amazing talent, but can not dedicate himself to train and dosent have the heart to preserver when he is losing. dosent have the fight IQ to improvise when he needed to.

I thought penn would at least get the fight to the ground because that is his main strength but I guess he wasnt able to.(havent seen the fight yet)

to be honest I am glad both penn and florian lost last night because it really shakes up the whole division and adds a level of excitement.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR GOMI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edgar and Maynard may have ushered in a new era. Their rematch should be good and defining for both.

Props to Edgar for stepping his game up AGAIN!

Edgar didn't just beat him, he won everyround and didn't leave a doubt in anybody's mind who was better. He was just to quick for BJ, when was the last time BJ had to go for a TD because he was getting beat on his feet. Now BJ needs a new excuse.....

I've said it before. BJ stands with his feet in quite a straight line. It's more of a boxing stance but still not technically right. He has great balance etc so he can avoid the takedown but his lead leg is there for a single. He has got his lead leg caught in a single before but his balance is too good to be taken down. Frankie took the balance away from his one remaining leg when he got a hold of the lead leg. Good on him for being the first to do it effectively.

:lol::lol: I really laughed hard at that.

What's extra ironic about this is that the sport of boxing was much better represented last night by Frankie Edgar than James Toney. Edgar showed again what great footwork and timing can do. Of course, it's only part of a complete arsenal, but it's been his major style in a number of his fights now.
