Is basically Boxing fans these days always remember fighters based on the most recent performances.

I seen idiots saying that FLoyd fights in str8 lines. And go back 4 years ago Floyd was a runner. Sounds like they saw one fight and gave their idiotic opinion on a fighter.

I dont think hes underrated i think hes rated accordingly.

He was one of the best lightweights of his era, resume wise probably the best of his era my main issue with him is his close controversial could have gone either way fights with Johnston twice and with Casamayor those fights left some doubts about his h2h capacity but then you have his fight with Floyd which many including myself had him winning even those who dont have him winning had the fight close and acknowledge that he pushed Floyd like no other fighter before or since and gets a lot of credit for that performance, would easily dominate the current crop of lightweights(assuming JMM isnt there anymore).

 Give it a rest. Most people here like Castillo. Big deal, a couple posters don't like him. GREAT reason to say "everyone underating Castillo." Figured this was more about Floyd then Castillo.... :patsch

Most of the fans are new/stupid and think his fight with Hatton represents a prime Castillo. A good comparison can be made with how many of the new fans underrated Tyson and thought the 2000-2005 version represented Tyson's official fighting style.

With YouTube officially providing full fights you would expect some fools to look into it. Then again not everyone understands what's happening in that ring.

Like 90% of the threads on ESB is about Floyd or Floyd gets dragged into.

but i do see a lot of posts with the phrase "even castillo almost beat Floyd" gaves me the impression that Castillo is being looked down as a average fighter. Sounds like it.

There is absolutely no shame in fighting close with Stevie Johnston, was #8 rated P4P when Castillo upset him and was red hot.

Has wins over Casamayor, Corrales, Lazcano, Bazan, Diaz, Johnston and fought close with Mayweather TWICE. Not once, but was able to do it again.

He is absolutely hall of fame worthy, and most of ESB agrees
