Why is everyone writing off Maidana so easily?

Maidana is a pretty good 147 fighter nothing more nothing less.

I think Porter would knock Maidana out .

I have him about number 7 or 8 in the division.

No way! I'm faithful to Floyd who's been giving me the high-and-hard one since the Baldomir Fight. Hey...once you've been had by Floyd....there's just no substitute.

 

floyd thinks every guy is a threat.....thats what makes him who he is....he views every opponent as a world class fighter who wants to be the man by beating the man.....they want to take money off his table.....its sad fans who go out of their way to discredit his opponents because he makes it look so easy

if floyd came out and said his opponent was trash that would be the wrong mindset of any fighter at the world class level....while its his in his best interest to sell the fight...he also shows respect for his opponents and knows they are coming to beat him because they want the spoils that would come along with that

i dont buy floyds fights because he tells me too....or because he told me his opponent was good...i already know who hes fighting and what they are...i certainly didnt buy pacs last ppv because someone told me too....

i dunno what country ***** street is in.....but im sure you live there....you said "floyd will be on ***** st" so i was assuming hed be moving there during the fight may 3rd

 

This thread will be one i'll be bumping after the fight when Maidana drops Mayweather and gives him hell (maybe even winning). There's some truly epic posts to quote and laugh at come May 3rd. Don;t worry there's so many other threads with similar posts.

So many think this is a joke fight, easy 120-108 UD, you guys are in for one hell of a shock but i'm not.

They have been wrong for years, pressuring while throwing bombs every now and then has never been the way to beat Floyd. Intelligent pressure while working behind a jab and setting up a bomb would get you immeasurably closer. That said, I think this fight pretty much a scuff for Floyd but, I still like it. Maidana does not work behind an intelligent jab, but his bombs are intelligent.

Check what he did to Broner, he had a great presence of mind on where to throw his bombs even though Broner was moving, he consistently overextended his punches to still meet with Broner with great precision. I don't think it's near enough, though, it does provide something new. If Floyd gets hit by Maidana's punches while moving, you will not see it having a significantly lessened effect, as Maidana's great presence on how to overextend will compensate for Floyd's moving.
