I'm not sure about this but I seem to recall there possibly being something in his breakout fight contract with Delahoya that linked FMJ forever with ODLH financially. Sort of the price of getting a chance at real stardom, which ODLH had in abundance at the time. Plus ODLH is infinitely preferrable to Bob Arum. Slimy promotor scum. ODLH has real love for the game, Bob has real love for money and manipulation.
I'm sure a part of it is no matter how much Floyd and Oscar dislike one another, it probably comes down to their egos. Still, I'm sure that Floyd and Oscar can relate to each other better then either relate to Arum, Oscar being Mexican American and Floyd being African American. I mean, I'm Korean, and I can relate to Floyd, Oscar, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian, but Arum and his kind, I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw a Pagoda.
