Why is Floyd depicted to be so big???

    Lets not forget floyd weighed in at 146 against judah and on fight night was still 146. And he was only 148 against hatton and only 150 when he faught DLH. I predict he will be about 146-148 on fight night against JMM and that wont be much bigger than JMM. Juan will probably be about 145 on fight night.

    yea thats tru but the reaction im gettin from ppl is that Floyd is freakin Paul Williams compared to JMM. I mean naturally hes bigger but not by much. I understand where ppl say its a mismatch skill wise but i dont think size is going to play that much of a role. Floyd doesnt bully ppl around that hes bigger than, he just fights his fight.

    he has a larger frame tho.....

    in comparison height wise paul williams & jermain taylor are the same height about....

    but jermain taylor's frame is HUGE in comparison to pw's

    floyd's frame is a lot bigger than jmm...

    He has a larger frame, he's fought at higher weights (Floyd has competed at a high level at the JMW range, JMM was in a war at 135).

    Let's not forget that whole "I'm a great big man, he's a good little man" thing...ya know that Floyd said...which sort of admitted he was bigger.

    Right?

    Yea tru...im not saying they are the same size by no means. Its clear Mayweather is the bigger man, im just saying he isnt THAT much bigger, atleast not as much as some ppl are depicting him. Regardless I agree that he was every size advantage.

    It's not just about the weight, it's how they have put on the weight. Floyd is comfortable and almost pure muscle at that weight. He performs at his physical peak. Marquez will not be as effective at the higher weight and he will not be at his best physically nor skillfully. If Floyd is so small why not just fight at 140lbs?

    EDIT: Floyd is not huge, but he will have a significant advantage over JMM, not just because Floyd is a proven welter, but because JMM is a small lightweight.

    That is a very good question. He should, thats all he has been fighting is 140 pounders, even tho skill wise he could beat anyone at 147. Who knows what goes through his mind. I would hope after JMM and Pac (IF he wins), then he fights Mosley or Cotto (or whoever is the top dog at WW at that time). The question is will he? I would hope but that is unlikely.

    The point is he's still big enough for it to be a legitimate issue with boxing fans.

    Obviously people will go into hyperbole, it's the nature of the internet. Make **** more ridiculous than it already is. Hell I think I did it in this thread 5 times alone.

    He has a size advantage, but its not that how people are making it seem. But the same people that are complaining are calling for Pac-Mosley and Pac-cotto

    Well Pac has proven he can be competitive at the likes of 140 and 147 so it's not as big of a reach though.

    It's hypocritical but somewhat substantial.

    Exactly. Mosley would have the same advantage over Pac that Mayweather has over JMM, maybe more. But I do feel that a Mosley v. Pac fight would be more competitive then a Mayweather v. JMM fight if Mosley didnt catch Pac with somethin big.

    I bellieve asking for Molsey to face Pacquiao is even more ridiculous than Floyd fighting JMM.

    Now, all the big boys want Manny.

    Me personally i dont care if Pac fights the WW i mentioned, nor do i see a problem with Floyd-JMM. Pac and JMM arent some random tomato can small guys. They are Elite world class ATG's who are more than capable of over coming size.

    The size difference between Pac vs Mosley/Cotto is greater than that of Floyd/JMM, i dont have a problem with either really. Some hate Floyd so much they dont realise they are being hypocritical.

    It would be even worse of a size difference if Pac fought Cotto/Mosley. Pac weighed in at 148 cotto/shane would be around 160.
