Getting pushed to the ropes a few times and slipping/blocking some apelike swings (with one or two in every flurry maybe making slight incidental contact) isn't exactly hands full, sf.

He did dominate nearly every minute of all three rounds and change.

I actually thought Ortiz was doing better than i expected. before the headbutt and KO i thought it was gonna get a bit competitive and Floyd would have to actually work to win and not just auto pilot the whole fight.

Yeah, Floyd had to fight instead of run and pot shot - I think that's as much to do with his legs being gone as with anything Ortiz was doing though. I think that's just how Floyd can fight now...and it's more than enough to get the W against the likes of Vicious Vic.

Don't give credit where it isn't due. Don't be deceived into thinking that because he stood in and exchanged punches that Mayweather was uncomfortable with what was going on.

because he fought a mediocre opponent...his best win was against an old DLH...

Only 4 rounds had passed and Ortiz face was already swollen and his eye was closing. Dont see how it was close. Ortiz had some good moments, but that smothering would hurt him more in the long run.

I think that there is some truth to that statement, but I take everything that Roach says with a grain of salt. Floyd has lost a step, and Ortiz probably was competitive against Pac. Problem?

Ortiz competitive against a much smaller forward fighting Pac who just had one fight at 135. Got dropped even though he was wearing headgear and not in the middle of an apology with his hands down. He had an honorable knockdown unlike tonight.

You're on one, bud. Exaggerating. Minimizing. Must be some agenda. You normally have a solid sense of reality.

That's because you know what's up, E. Which is no surprise over here as you know. I saw the same thing.

Hatton and Oscar tried the smothering thing, where they crowd Mayweather and dont land any clean punches.

Didnt work for them, wasnt going to work for Ortiz.

Only real difference was Ortiz was busted up and his eye was closing in the 4th round.

Ortiz saw a way out and took it. I dont even think he was KO'd.

Did you watch it on PPV? If so, did you record it to DVR?

(I kept stopping/starting mine at the ring walks and wrap-up interviews so that each fight would be its own recording rather than just one big 3+ hour chunk)

Rewind it back and actually look at Ortiz's combos when he pushed Mayweather to the ropes. During the heat of the moment they seemed very dramatic, but how many clean solid shots do you think he was actually landing? How many times did Mayweather's head get snapped around, with all those power punches flying out in his direction?
