Have you been under a rock lately?

Floyd is widely accepted as the best in the game right now and widely accepted as an established ATG.

I may think more of Floyd's boxing ability and less of his maturity than you, but I don't think he needs the catchweight. Rather Canelo tried to force this fight on Floyd and Floyd said "eff you no one tells me what to do." Now it seems like Floyd has to make the fight, but he has to sort of find a way to punish Canelo for trying to tell him what to do. In essence it's his way of telling Canelo "I'm the boss, not you...punk" I actually think that Floyd wants Canelo to come in @154 so he can beat him at that weight and still say "I'm the boss" by taking his money too.

There is always some controversy in regard to his behavior inside the ring,
like his defense is ATG but he is boring as hell ... this means he just runs and potshots
all day long to score point advantage, he is very accurate but has no pop in his shots,
he cheats his opponents or he tends to avoid these who seems to posses serious treat to him.

All of this is not related to his persona but to his boxing abilities and is not
about people like or dislike his character but how they respect him as
a boxer .... which accounts for much more than pure boxing skills and potential.

People respect Floyd but they just dislike him. Maybe because he duck prime fighters and waiting to fight them before they get washed out. He fight once a year. He cheated Marquez in weight. He asked for catchweight from Canelo. He asked pac so many things before he could fight him. He's a woman beater. He's style is boring to watch. Lastly, he talked too much and a loudmouth person. :)

I should give Floyd more respect, he is ATG but not the GOAT because of a lack of taking more tough and dangerous (better fighters) opposition.

He gets the respect he deserves. There are many, many reasons to dislike him, but he's been top 3 p4p for a long time now and he gets the respect that
    accomplishing that brings.

Floyd is already respected enough and you hear a lot of media, journalist, and boxers who praise the guy all of the time. The question you should of ask is why people hate Mayweather? The reason is pretty obvious since nobody can't stand an ignorant, ego, flamboyant person that talks a lot of trash and very disrespectful towards other people. People can't stand his childish acts and always in trouble and that rubs a lot of people the wrong way. I for one don't care what he does on the outside because that's not my life and who am I to judge the guy and complain about his rant's. The guy is a grown man and he's going to do what he want's to regarding of what the fans or media says. The only thing I care about is what he does inside the ring and he's meet my expectation each time he stepped in the ring.

I agree, who cares what he says out of the ring. I like Floyd because he is an artist IN THE RING.
