why is floyd performance against Ortiz before the KO never talked about?

I got upset because it was becoming interesting in the 4th and then it ended so cheaply. Mayweather started teeing off on Ortiz early in the 4th but then Ortiz had a little success in backing Floyd up into the ropes and catching him with a couple good shots. I really wanted to see how it was going to pan out. Instead we got a bs ending.

Really shocked me, because I always had respected how professional Floyd was in the ring. He does a few dirty tactics here and their but he is usually a clean fighter and even in the Judah fight when all hell broke loose, he kept his cool and stayed professional. I lost some respect for him and how he took that cheap shot. Would have much rather watched him put on a boxing clinic. Was it right in what Ortiz did? Hell no. But, on that same note, Mayweather choking Ortiz and the press conference wasn't very sportsman like either.

 

I would have rather continued seeing a good boxing match. I can watch satisfying cheap shots on worldstarhipop or something.

 

Meh. If Ortiz didnt have a history of cheap shotting his opponents I'd agree. But he was trying to head butt Floyd all night. He got what he deserved and really when I saw it in the movie theaters and everyone went crazy it was strangely satisfying.

 

Ortiz, good shots? Where? What second mark of the 4th round? I watch this fight alot, all I saw was Oritz blitzing and missing, which is why he headbutted Floyd that FINAL time in the first place.

Whether you like it or not, Floyd's KO of Ortiz was completely professional, it showed great awareness and ring presence. He kept his cool the whole time. Which is why Floyd's the best. :good

I feel you, but, Ortiz made the mistake, he was made to pay. To me that ending move showed just how aware Floyd is in the ring, and how street he can actually be. Ortiz was already getting schooled the whole time as it was, Floyd just ended class early. Class dismissed.


I love how after the headbutt, if you watch Floyd, he looks out of the ring and gives someone 'the nod' as if to say "Dont worry B, I got this clown..hold on a sec'. That was so cold blooded. I loved it.

 

Ortiz caught Floyd with at least one good shot and bullied him to the ropes. Why do people act like it's a crime to admit Ortiz caught Floyd with a good shot? It doesn't mean Floyd was losing, and I just wanted to see him keep doing what he was doing. The ref did a horrible job that night.

 

Because it wasn't a good shot. Those 2 jabs that Cotto threw that knocked Floyd's head back were good shots. That right hook Ortiz threw was no more than a glancing blow made to look worse simply because Floyd got off balance. Nothing more.

And Cortez didn't do a horrible job. Ortiz did. Cortez deducted the point. Brought his hands together and said lets go. That is how he does it in every fight. Floyd came in with hands up. Ortiz came in with hands down. Ortiz's stupidity is not Cortez's problem to fix.
