OK....you're right...here's a list of guys floyd didn't fight...kostya tszyu, vince phillips, clottey (both of them), quartey, mayorga, six heads, quintana, collazzo, stevie forbes, malignaggi and derell coley. clearly floyd ducked these guys and every other sfw-smw from 2000 to 2015 and chose to fight the leading lights DLH, SSM, cotto, hatton, canelo, corrales etc because he was scared of taking on "all comers."

Even williams said floyd didn't duck him.

And i remember canelo asking for 152...not floyd. floyd is a small 147 pounder...at the VERY LEAST the fair thing would have been 150-151 which is halfway between the two weight limits...but canelo got 152. canelo came in on fight night at 170 lbs...basically a middleweight which means floyd was basically fighting a guy two weight classes above him.

So, in actuality, that post didn't go far enough. it understated floyd's accomplishments.

 

The thing is, floyd would fight these guys like maidana, ortiz, cotto, canelo..and they would be like 160, 165, 170 on fight night. And floyd is a small ww. So, he's fighting guys who were like world champs in their own right, who knew they had zero chance of beating him fair and square, so they had to cheat by gaining 20, 25 lbs after the weigh in, hoping that just by virtue of being so much bigger and stronger they would be able to wade through floyd's punches and impose their will....and everyone of them still got dominated. floyd beat the bejeezus outta these much bigger guys who were like two weight classes and even three weight classes above him...then the haters would be like "how come he didn't knock them out? oh, he can't punch...oh he runs..." knowing damn well floyd was a smalll ww in there with a mw or even a smw.

Even among the hw's if one guy weighs 220lbs and the other guy weighs 240 lb, the 240 lber is said to have a huge advantage....how much more is it in the ww div? Only ONE other man in history did what floyd did, fighting so far above his natural weight ...that was rjj against john ruiz. But floyd did it for for like the last 5 years of his career when he was in his mid-late 30's.

Fmj is an amazing, practically superhuman talent.

the world really doesn't conceive of how brilliant this dude was...how could they with all the haters trying to throw salt in the game?...but as long as fans like myself are around to proclaim his greatness the world will one day understand.

and he beat pac like a child...no problem there either.

Of course margo wanted to fight floyd with his cheatin ass...who didn't? The question was, what did margo do to deserve a fight? Lose to santos and williams? struggle with clottey?...then floyd retired after the hatton fight and margo finally broke through with a KO win of cotto...of course it has come out that he was cheating all along and didn't deserve to win any of those fights, but even at his height, which was the cotto win, floyd was retired at the time. When floyd came back, margo could have earned his shot by beating shane...but shane exposed him as a cheater and knocked him tfo. that ended any credibility margo ever had.

Sure, floyd ducked pacquiao by requiring a drug test... and pacquiao showed how serious he was by refusing to get tested for years... pac and margo, two cheaters....and that's your argument as to why floyd is not the best ever.

canelo agreed to 152 knowing he could make it easily then blow up to 170 on fight night...that's exactly what he did and he got dominated.

because he had been off for a year and half and wasn't in his best shape....it was a 4 pound difference. Marquez 142, floyd 146...floyd dominated marquez like a child. compare that to canelo at 170 and maidana at 165, cotto at 160, ortiz at 165, etc...from a 20 to nearly a 30 lb weight advantage for those guys...and floyd dominated them all with ease.

 

floyd fought "smaller guys coming up in weight"?...fmj won his first title at sfw...he's naturally smaller than guerrero, ortiz, hatton, and all the rest of them.

 

Dude, go back and do your research...how was margo #1 when he lost to williams? margo was an also-ran. another face in the crowd ...and if floyd had beat him, he would have been accused of cherry-picking a guy who was tailor-made for him. At the time, baldomir was considered the top ww and a much more dangerous opponent, because he had not only beaten judah, who was considered the best ww after he ko'd spinks, but baldomir had also KO'd gatti and unified the title.

Hatton had KO'd pfp top 5 guy tszyu and ko'd castillo and beaten collazzo...done far more than margarito.

You're saying floyd should have passed up these much more deserving fighters to fight margo who had beaten antonio diaz?...margo who? the same margo who struggled with clottey and got beat by santos and later by williams? even if floyd had stuck around and not retired after the hatton fight, he STILL wouldn't have fought margo, because margo LOST to williams when he finally stepped up his comp!

Besides that, margo shouldn't even be part of the conversation, because he's a cheat!
