why is floyd's drugs test demand unreasonable?

Because anyone with a basic highschool education is smart enough to pass those tests (no matter what they are on at the time).

Now, we know Pac probably does not have that, but he can always ask a friend.

It is unreasonable due to cost for little events, and its not affordable, but its not unreasonable at all for the good of the sport.
The bottom line is that the only reason Mayweather asked for it with Pac is because he and his family believe Pac is taking drugs. With that being said he cant only hold Pac to it, but Im sure had the fight never been negotiated with Pac, he would have never made Mosley take any additional tests.
I think Pac should do it. The whole weakening thing is bull****, and making him look very bad, especially now that Mayweather has increased his stock in the view of fans who thought he was soft.

Wrong, see post #75. And while I would generally agree with your post. Can you tell me what kind of gear that a person could take for 24 days and get REAL results and pass a post fight blood test and unlimited urine tests ?

You guys are missing the god damn point. You don't get any ****ing useful results from using for 24 days.

Even Mosley acknowledged what a big pain in the ass the testing was.

I know I'm not doing anything illegal at home, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let the cops into my house.

It's not unreasonable for Mayweather to ask for it, but it's also not unreasonable for Pacquiao to refuse. That's what makes this such a difficult situation.

Good post, but I would say that Mayweather is trying to circumvent current rules and procedures.

Well they wouldn't be unreasonable if he went about it in the right way. Petitioning the commission for changes in its policies in drug testing. Floyd has been in the fight game for a long time 40+ fights and now all of a sudden he wants his opponents to start taking drug tests because he wants to clean up the sport. Its bull**** and your a moron if you can't see that especially after watching 24/7. Its all about getting the upper hand against Pacquiao. If I was Pac I would stick by my guns and not be dictated to. Again I ask again where does floyd get the right to dictate his own terms outside of boxing rules and regulations. If Pac doenst agree to it so what you go back to the table and keep negotiating.

Couldn't agree more. Fighters do not make the rules. This needs to come from above.

Blood testing needs to be a part of the sport though.

In essence these cats are independant contractors and have the latitude to negotiate anything they want into a contract (within reason obviously). Hence to say the "commission doesn't require it" is irrelevant, because the commission isn't fighting and isn't involved in negotiating agreements, the fighters are. If they want to make the fight, the most logical thing is for the fighters to take drug tests, and if you stand by the idea that fossilized methods are sufficient, then take all the current safety equipment out of a NASCAR and race with the old school across the waste seat belt and a motorcycle helmet, see if the drivers and public are cool with that. I mean there was a time when this was "good enough", it was all the "commission required" etc, but times change and boxing is no different...dude times have changed and yes this is necessary.

Well then get the rules changed, simple as that. Arum said that Pac would comply with what the commission ruled. Problem solved...............

I look at it like this -- Floyd is willing to take the same Olympic style blood tests himself. It's not like he's asking Pac to jump through hoops. If anything, if Pac takes the tests, proves he's clean, and then whips Floyd, he will have silenced all doubts in the best way.

At this point, Pac either doesn't want to fight Floyd or he's on something. I hope he takes the tests, ends up being clean, and we get to see a great fight. May the best man win.

Now if Pac were to agree to the tests, and Floyd pulls something else later on to make negotiations difficult, then that should get people wondering about his willingness to fight.

I doubt Floyd is ducking Pac. I think he wants the Pac fight more than any other.

He had to make Mosley take the test. His supposed fight against Pacquiao fell through because of that reason. If he didn't ask shane, he'll look foolish. Mosley had to take it since he was found guilty before.

Now this is a very good point you made. But at this point -- with the biggest fight in the past 30 or so years on the table -- you take the tests if you know you're clean, go whip that other dude's ass for accusing you, and get paid your biggest payday ever in the process. Pac could theoretically own this so hard if he wanted to.

It SHOULD be good enough, but it is known not to be. That's why Floyd would like a higher standard.

It's been said to cost 20k. That's hardly an unreasonable cost given what these guys will be fighting for.
