ESPN: In your case, theres been actual convictions and no governing body has ever suspended you or sanctioned you. What message do you think that sends victims of domestic violence? Mayweather: Honestly, I want everybody to tune in, May 2nd. Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. This is the fight that you cant miss. ESPN: You have no desire to answer that question? Mayweather: Im blessed to be where Im at. You know, I have four beautiful children, and Im truly, truly blessed to be where Im at today. And with hard work and dedication you can be anywhere in life. ESPN: Well, unquestionably, youve worked hard to get to where you are. But there are a lot of people who wonder why you should be allowed to continue to box in the highest profile events when youve got the track record that you have, when in other sports, there have been serious repercussions for some of these athletes. Mayweather: When its all said and done, only God can judge. But I dont want people to miss this fight. This is an unbelievable matchup. Mayweather-Pacquiao. May 2nd. Be there.
Damn, Floyd owned that dude. Was the interviewer holding a bible in one hand? They're the ones always passing moral judgement.
They are just taking a jab at Floyd because he's an a$$ hole and he's getting a TON of money for being an a$$ hole. But really beating a woman is always going to follow you.....that's something that people remember years after you play your last game or fight your last fight and Floyd just has to get used to it.
I think most know I loath Floyd but those are loaded questions that aren't really relevant to what is coming up. Shame on ESPN. Not much difference from this tyson one when Tyson gave the interviewer hell for asking such a stupid question. This wasn't long ago and I actually saw it live when it happened. Tyson Was awesome! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDdSVYmp714
"But there are a lot of people who wonder why you should be allowed to continue to box in the highest profile events when youve got the track record that you have", that interviewer was definitely a tattle tale and a teachers pet when he was young. When youve done as much work as Floyd has theres no one that can stop you from doing what youre doing
What about people who have a long history like 5 convictions for abuse against women? You truly hate them or not as much?
Floyd has had big super fights but none of them had 5 years of hype and public demand like this one. This is by far the biggest world spotlight boxing has been under in at least 30 years. Whether its fair or not Floyd's character and background are going to fall under heavy scrutiny on this kind of stage. Hell look at what the media was doing to the Patriots for the entire two weeks leading into the super bowl.
