When looking at the strengths and weaknesses of both guys there is no way you can really conclude that GGG does not stand a chance in this fight. Even if his power doesn't carry up to SMW (which at this moment in time is an unknown) it is so great at MW that it should at the very least be respectable at SMW. His chin appears solid at MW. He won't have tasted Froch's level of power before, but, again, it is an unknown how he will handle Froch's power. However, his chin not showing any real weakness at MW means that at this moment in time we can't really call his chin a weakness if he does fight Froch. Speed and skill wise, GGG is no Dirrel or Ward, but he is quicker than Froch, has better footwork (offensively and defensively), throws his punchers more crisply and is overall a more rounded fighter than Froch. Froch's size and strength may tell up close, but, GGG isn't exactly a weak guy.
