Judah won 3 rounds and got absolutely schooled for the rest of the fight against Mayweather. What fight were you watching?
Judah took at very least the first 4 and near bowled over Mayweather. He lost his **** in the latter half and Floyd dominated. Doesn't eliminate the fact he struggled in the first half.
yet, the end result was all the same. Triangle theories never work, There is no one else that has earned as much a shot against Floyd as Danny has. I think he would be a huge long shot, between 8 and 10 to 1, but we know Danny won't quit. Esp. with Angel in his corner slapping him in the face. Danny won't be intimidated and will try his best. I actually think he will provide more entertainment than Guerrero and Canelo.
I think Danny should get the winner of Maidana-Broner on the undercard of Floyd's fighting venue in May. The winner in that undercard should get the opportunity to fight Floyd in September. I wouldn't be opposed to Danny getting his shot though in May against Floyd. he's already done enough to warrant a shot at the P4P king, but him moving up 7 lbs in weight against a guy who's on another level as far as speed and overall skillset goes will probably end quite badly for Danny. He should take on the Broner-Maidana winner at 147 first so he can get acclimated a bit to the weight division.
Even though he's the champ at 140lbs, he's still developing as an elite fighter. Mayweather is almost too good for his own good right now. If we give Danny all the room to reach his potential, ( grow into a full fleshed welter, hone his skills against slick fighters like Broner or Alexander) then he will have a much better chance and hype to make it an event. Right now there are just too many question marks, but that's not a knock on Danny, it's a testament to Floyd's greatness.
The only way you can beat Floyd is to get lucky and catch him, like Mosley did. Or have a style like his with a lot of speed.
Pacquiao is a better opponent than Garcia, in fact much better in my humble opinion. It would also be a good fight to determine Floyd's next opponent, PAC vs Garcia, but we all know the promoters and network issues around this... Pacquiao would also be a bigger money fight.
Garcia in my opinion just doesn't pass the eye test, good fighter and technically sound, but I think his defense is leaky and he's to mechanical and slow.
PAC deserves no parts of Garcia or Floyd, he has 2 st8 L's in a row... (Let's not rewrite recent history here)
I agree with this. He doesn't have the speed to beat Floyd to the punch or a good enough jab to disrupt his rhythm. Danny can't possibly come out on top if he tries to counter with Floyd and he's not a pressure fighter either. Garcia's a very good fighter but Mayweather's all wrong for him. Garcia against someone like Guerrero or Broner would be good, before maybe looking at the JMM-Bradley winner.
Well thats just zab judah for you, he ALWAYS starts off quick and fades down the stretch. Doesn't in any way, shape or form change the fact that he got reduced to a punching bag against mayweather. But answering the question at hand Garcia has proven to fight mayweather ON PAPER. Considering the fact that he's beaten the top guys at 140, but it doesn't mean he's good enough to face him H2H. Danny Garcia is a tough customer that's solid in many areas, a jack-of-all trades that can give many top, world class fighters fits. But at the end of the day, thats the problem. Garcia doesn't have anything in his arsenal that Floyd has never seen before, he's a classic boxer-puncher that doesn't particularly shine in any one area. It's just bad news for Garcia going against a guy that could exploit every single weakness he has at his disposal.
Danny has a punchers chance like all the rest, but any boxing fan can see that Garcia and Floyd are on two different levels. Danny takes a good amount of punishment, which will get exploited by Floyd. Sure he's young and have a good chin, but when has that ever stopped Mayweather, from getting the victory? Garcia ring IQ is not on the same level, we can see this from, the way he fights vs Maywather. I said it before and will say it again. I would put Garcia against Broner first. Broner is no Floyd, but he comes close to him then anyone else. If he could get through Broner, speed, skill and defense. It will give him a good idea and lesson to what he's up against with Mayweather.
