Why is GGG, Froch, Groves, or Chavez going to fight Ward again?

Assuming that Chavez vs GGG is PPV and does reasonably well numbers, why would either of them decide to fight Ward and let Ward dicate the terms of the fight, such as the location, and get the majority of the purse?

Additionally, why would the winner of George Groves vs Froch choose to fight Ward when they could make more money fighting the winner of GGG vs Chavez?

Even the two losers of those fights would arguably make more money fighting eachother than fighting Ward.

So what is the incentive for fighting Ward?

Ward has lost enough momentum where he might as well go up to 175 and fight Kovalev, especially considering he would be able to dicate the terms as far as purse size and fight location are concerned.

Additionally, it would give Ward's career momentum, plus it would give him a stronger position at the negotiating table.

So what the hell is Ward doing exactly?

Nobody is going to fight him at 168. He needs to make moves.

because Ward is the #2 American boxing cashcow, doing 2 mln PPV's a fight, just behind Floyd, he sells out arenas with his exciting and eye-catching style

They are all gathered at an undisclosed location writing up damage control for Stevenson.

People said that Ward shouldn't fight Kovalev in my last thread, but the way I look at it, he definitely should fight Kovalev because he has limited to no options at 168.

If he fights Kovalev and wins, he automatically elevates himself to the next level and can potentially be a PPV star.

Kovalev can recover because he is a KO artist, and they are always fun to watch.

If Ward loses, he can still go back down to 168, but he must be willing to make sacrifices to get the fights he wants.

If he let's the winner of GGG vs Chavez, (I'm assuming Chavez will win), take the bigger purse, and he manages to beat Chavez, Ward is back in the driver's seat again.

    Afterall, boxing is a business.

A entraprenuer has to take a risk. If Ward is unwilling to take that risk, then he may not be able to expand his business.

Ward may be rated as #2 PFP, but he's nowhere near Mayweather's earining capability. Mayweather continues to take risks (occasionally), and the payoff has been huge.

Ward isn't taking huge risks but the challengers out there sure aren't either. I don't hear too many guys calling Ward out. To be the man you gotta beat the man, at least Dawson tried.

    What would there incentive be?

Ward would demand the fight be in his weightclass, in his hometown, and that he gets the majority of the purse.

Plus, Ward is hard to beat.

So would you blame anyone for not fighting Ward?

What's the incentive? Are you serious?
If these guys are at 168, and they all are/will be, then Ward is the undisputed 'man' at the weight. Period. That's your incentive right there. All this money talk is bullsh*t Mayweather type talk. These fighters you listed wants to be the #1. They will get paid regardless of who they must face to be that.

Consider what it would do for Chavez if he was to beat Ward after beating GGG, status wise (not that I think he would beat either), just imagine.:nut:dead

You can rest assured that team Ward is seasoning up the HBO execs to the idea of him fighting Cloud or Brahmer/Enzo winner in his LHW debut.....

As soon as he gets that win, fights out his HBO contract, he'll be off to Showtime waiting for BHOP in the chicken-shiit 6 tournament for LHW.:lol::lol:

Do you think Chavez is willing to let Ward dicate the terms when Chavez can bring in far more cash?

Or would he simply fight Froch or George Groves?

    Either fight is good.
Chavez brings in the money, but Ward makes more vs Chavez than against a lot of other fighters and that is what matters when it comes to that part of it. It's not about making more than the opponent, it's about maximizing earnings relative to risk. That's why he can and will take that fight if the time comes.

Because Ward is viewed as the best in and around the weight class by just about everyone in the world. These challengers can make money in easier fights in front of their home fans but that in and of itself should be called out as somewhat of a duck? It would be different if the number one was debatable by the public but I'm not sure that is the case here.

GGG will probably fight him but his handlers aren't exactly jumping at the idea, he's willing to go to 168 but hasn't publicly called out Ward so I guess that tells us where GGG is at. Still needs work before he steps up so I guess he shouldn't get a bigger purse.

Froch just wants to get paid to lose, nothing about him comes off as confident.

Groves is a nobody compared to Ward.

Kovalev shouldn't get any demands against Ward.

Stevenson is a decent draw in Quebec but I'm sure Ward is more known in all of N. America/World.

Chavez is really the only guy that should come as close as 50/50 purse spit.

Similar to when De La Hoya fought Mayweather.
