Why is GGG wasting his prime fighting tomato cans?

GGG has made no plans about fighting at 168. The only fight he wants North was JCC.. who got knocked out by a journeymen in his last fight. You expect the 168 names to call him out yet GGG is more interested beating up Felix Sturm's leftovers.

You're getting riled up with the wrong guy. Pimp C is a very good and reasonable poster who follows the sport closely.

You should be channeling this frustration towards DirtyDan who wants him to move up because he has heard other people say the MW division is dead and there are tougher fights at 168 but admits he doesn't know anything about James DeGale and has never watched him fight. That's the type of poster who doesn't really understand the landscape or have the knowledge to back up what he's saying but wants to jump on an anti-hype bandwagon anyway.

Or yeyo, who follows boxing closely and understands the history of the sport but just happens to be a lunatic.

I want GGG to move up because I'm a fan, he's good for boxing, and he can become a great. He's fighting Felix Sturm's leftovers and tomato cans. I'm not exaggerating either. This is exactly what his resume consists of. I'm unreasonable because I want a man to challenge himself instead of knocking out bums? Isn't this why Wilder is still criticized for?

James DeGale is a British fighter who fights during British times. His only big fight was Groves, who I didn't even know until he fought Froch. I follow the world scene, not just British scene. James has a big fight coming up next week with Dirrell. Next Saturday will be boxing day, and I'll be making sure to see DeGale's past fights before the main event with Dirrell.

I didn't mean to rip you and I was over the line to call you out. So I apologize for that.

It's just my personal opinion that you should really study the fighters in a division before deciding who are the 'tough fights' and who are 'cans' and making declarative statements about that subject. I have no issue with the logic of people who want him to move up, I just want to make sure it's substantiated. The British and European scene is a big part of the equation at SMW so it's important to follow that quite closely to speak definitively on the division.

Yes I realize that GGG is the best at 160. Crawford is still young and if chose to he could have stayed at 135 and ruled 135 with an iron fist for a few more years. He didn't want to because it was a dead division and better fighters and money was at 140 or even 147.

If you move up and dominate another weight class, your legacy enhances. That's why they call it POUND 4 POUND. Sturm lost to Sam ****ing Soliman, arguably lost against Stieglitz at a catchweight, and lost against a contender for a vacant belt. Sturm is washed, you must be confusing me for someone else. I've never praised Sturm.

GGG has a chance to knock out bigger men, win another belt in a higher weight class, and build his legacy. Instead, him and his fans want him to fight prospects when he's 33 years old, hoping one day he'll surpass Hopkins number of title defenses.. :patsch

In other words ban bets are dumb. Ive been offered to do ban bets for PBF figghts against Canelo and Pac. Fights that I believed PBF had no shot of losing and still didn't do them. Ban bets are dumb never saw the purpose of them. I did however do avatar bets when the forum allowed avatars.

I hear you, but I think TC was really outgrowing LW in a way GGG isn't outgrowing MW. Cutting 18 lbs when you're fighting at 135 is a big deal.

But, again, I have no issue with how you view this situation.

I don't see why people are so stressed about this.

He wants to be the dominant force at 60, fair.

He wants to take the Hagler path, which is fair. But it's going to be a Hagler-esque resume without the Duran's/Hearns/and without the Mugabi's.

He'll be known as the undisputed king of 160 from 2011-2017 probably. But unfortunately, his overwhelmingly weak resume compared to the greats will be highlighted.

Beating a Willie Monroe Jr at 33 years of age isn't going to do much for you, as mean as it sounds.

I think the second paragraph is a misrepresentation. GGG's fans WANT him to fight Cotto and Canelo, not prospects. Some are unrealistic about how likely these fights are to be made. But I don't think any logical person would argue that GGG fans would prefer to see him fighting Monroe instead of Canelo.

Lara called him out and he dismissed Lara claiming that Lara is somebody who can't sell out an ice rink.

But then he fights Monroe Jr saying that he wants to fight southpaws...but Lara is a good southpaw, better than Monroe........and we all know Monroe Jr can't hold Lara's jockstrap.

Lara also has more fans than Monroe Jr, to be real here.

    Hm.

    Kinda fishy.
