Why is Golovkin fighting Curtis Stevens and not Peter Quillin?

He is damned no matter what he does. :-(

If he fought Kid Chocolate, a bunch of rubes would be crying that he ducked Stevens.

He is taking on Stevens next because of public demand caused by Stevens' recent nationally televised knockouts and having called out Golovkin.

KC - despite being the bigger talent - doesn't have the casual hype or exposure level that Stevens currently does.

Could he not fight N'dam N'jikam, Murray, Andy Lee, Pirog, Rubio, Lemieux or even Dirrell at a catchweight of 164-66, I'm pretty sure most of these guys are not GBP fighters.

Quillen is easy work for triple G. Triple G is the truth.

Are you serious? N'dam? You mean the guy who refused to fight GGG, who was his mandatory at that time? :patsch

Murray? Didn't you hear Hatton say Murray was not ready for 3G?

Andy Lee, who after the loss to Jr. hasn't been willing to fight another notable opponent. Pirog....you mean to say that Pirog who is still problaby with back problems, should fight 3G?

Rubio...right, like if he is going to waste his opportunity to rematch Jr. or be the mando for Martinez. And Lemiuex is in par with Stevens, is not like Lemiux is a highly ranked MW. Direll...when was his last fight again?

GGG has not many options at the moment or fighters just refuse to fight him. Do you really think Barker would choose 3G over a Brit showdown with Murray or a lucrative easier fight with possible mando, Sturm?

All we heard was why doesn't Golovkin fight Stevens, now that that fight might happen, I am hearing different. Golovkin can't force the other champions to fight him, but he is willing to do such...........

Dont expect Barker to fight GGG, but dont see a reason why N'dam would turn down GGG as it would be another shot for him at world title, the same with Rubio I'm sure he'd take the oppurtunity to fight for a title now rather than wait for Martinez or Chavez?
I believe Pirog was/is meant to make his comeback this month.
Lee hasn't had any opportunities since losing to Chavez, how many shots at the title is he gonna get if he refuses?
I believe Murray would take the chance also, but he wouldnt be able to travel to the US which may be a deal breaker.

Agree on Lemiuex, would rather Stevens & Lemiuex fight to determine who gets the shot at GGG.

Direll hasnt fought in a long time, but he's still a big name & he's not affiliated to GBP so the fight could be made.

When GGG didnt have an HBO contract Chocolatino didnt want the fight. He'd bested Njikam and felt he was the best MW in the world.

The same Njikam who refused almost 200K to fight GGG :lol::lol:

The lengths N'Kijam went to, to avoid Golovkin were extraordinary. After using every excuse in the book, he actually wrote to the WBA saying he'd give up his title before facing him. The WBA had 3 Middleweight champions for quite a while because they couldn't drag Sturm or N'Kijam into the ring to face GGG. Their names can't even me mentioned as potential opponents.

People citing the network split don't seem to remember that quillin was on record saying the fight "doesn't make sense" even BEFORE the network split.
