Lucky? I am not sure about that. My parents had to run away- immigrate their motherland before the collapse, otherwise could have been either prosecuted or murdered.

I am actualy from the Soviet Ukraine but its all good.

    Weak resume?

He's beaten Tszyu, who was high on most peoples p4p lists at the time. No suprise to see he suddenly became shot, because it is beyond the realms of possibility that Hatton could win otherwise

He took a big risk stepping up against a counter-punching southpaw, it was a very close fight, and could have gone either way. You can hardly say either was robbed, and in the end it goes down as a very good win

He also comfortably beat Urango and Maussa, not great fighters by any means, but they are solid wins

Then Castillo, definitely no way near his peak, but we weren't to know he would be that bad. Got him out of there, as easily as you could hope for

Now he's challenging the p4p number 1. He's 29 for ****s sake, there will be many big fights to come. His resume is miles better than the likes of Pavlik and Williams who everyone wanks over

I doubt he knows the difference. As I was once asked by a nice but extremely uneducated person, "Isn't UK and UKraine the same thing?"

You act like american fans can't have valid criticisms of the heavyweight division. Whenever someone criticizes the division, you and others will just fall back on your same cliches to try to ignore valid points because you idolize some fighters just because of where they are from. I haven't heard ONE person criticize the heavyweight division just because there are only one or two american contenders. It's you guys that fold into a ball whenever someone doesn't speak highly of this weak divsion.

Why the feck would I idolize blokes from Ukraine and Russia? I honestly couldn't give two ****s about them, but there are still some very good fighters there. Certainly not as strong as in times gone by, but there are some wank divisions people ought to be criticizing a lot more

Or maybe they should be talking about why we have about 68 different weight classes, diluting the quality

For those reasons I find it difficult to see any reason other than there being a distinct lack of American passport holders

Mayweather isn't under-estimating him, he knows Hatton is a big threat to him, although he is very confident he will win. He's just not going to say this publicly, its not his style.

No, I was paraphrasing the Beatles song called "Back in the USSR". McCartney sings... "I'm back in the USSR, you don't know how lucky you are, boys". You started your post "born in the USSR" and it reminded me of the song, so I continued it. I will paste the lyrics below for you mate.

I know the Ukraine has had some terrible problems in the past but it is a beautiful country!

"The Ukraine girls really knock me out, they leave the west behind"

Anyway, I hope you understand that, I wasn't trying to make a point about the Ukraines political problems, or anything about the USSR, I was simply singing a song:good.

    This song...

Back in the USSR by The Beatles

Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC
Didn't get to bed last night
Oh, the way the paper bag was on my knee
Man, I had a dreadful flight
    I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
    Back in the USSR, yeah

Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Gee, it's good to be back home
Leave it till tomorrow to unpack my case
    Honey disconnect the phone
    I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
    Back in the US
    Back in the US
    Back in the USSR

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
    They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
    Oh, come on
Hu Hey Hu, hey, ah, yeah
    yeah, yeah, yeah
    I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boys
    Back in the USSR

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
    They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind

Oh, show me round your snow peaked
    mountain way down south
Take me to you daddy's farm
Let me hear you balalaika's ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm
    I'm back in the USSR
Hey, You don't know how lucky you are, boy
    Back in the USSR
Oh, let me tell you honey
