There will always be unyielding fanboys that would backup anything their favorite boxer does, no matter what it is and make "logical" reasons for it.

Haye is a good fighter and a worthy champion but is only in the game for the money and fame - he does not enjoy being a fighter and rarely fights more than twice a year. He has stated on numerous occasions that he will retire soon and I believe him.
I know fighters who would do anything to fight for the HW title but yet Haye has pulled out of a HW title fight because he was worried about Setanta going bust and then because a easier shot become available
He most prob will wait for Vitali to show more signs of old age and fight him at the right time but dont look for him to fight Wlad anytime soon

I am british and also a fan of Haye but have to be honest - I was disgusted that he pulled out the 1st Wlad fight , a lot of brits booked flights and hotels for that and he feigned injury - unforgivable!

I'm not a Haye fan, but he's played this smart. From what I hear, the Klits are very arrogant and dismissive in regards to neogtiations. The first time he tried to fight these guys, he was getting the much smaller cut, and they had multiple options on him. Since then, Haye has gone out and got himself a belt and has established himself as a HW. He's created a buzz for this fight. The Kilits can't just treat him as some regular opponent.

The Klits know they have to fight Haye if they want to be involved in a mega fight(unless they decide to fight eachother). Haye can probably now get a 50/50 deal and the Kilts won't be able to attatch multiple options to the deal. Haye will fight one of these two, and when he does, it will be a much better deal than the one he would've got had he fought them last year. He's also gotten more comfortable at HW while the Klits are slipping further past their primes and are putting more miles on their tires with each succesive fight.

I don't know man, Haye really didn't look very good versus Valuev or Ruiz.

What exactly is your point? Reading this long meandering post reminded me of what my 9th grade English teacher always said--keep it simple stupid. When Haye was an voluntary defense, the Klits treated him as such. And guess what, so did Valuev. Don King got options on Haye's next 3 fights.

Now that Haye is a title holder, all the evidence is that Wlad has been fair with him. The only complaint that Haye's camp has issued is that he wants more time. Obviously, if there was a debate about money, that would have been aired. No, this has to do with Haye not wanting to risk his reputation against a superior fighter.

Also, the Klitscho slipping argument is shear stupidity. Wasn't it Haye who said he wanted the best....I don't recall him saying he wanted to go up to heavyweight and employ dillitory tactics until both brothers got old enough so that he might have a shot against them. Wow, that's impressive.:good

He apparenty got injured against Valuev, and I thought he looked pretty good against Ruiz. Regardless, he's only 29. These fights will only help him get better. The Klits are in their mid to late 30's. They are not getting any better.

Haye has been exposed. The tiny respect I had for him is gone. He's a no hoper in the HW division.

They don't *have* to fight Haye. Haye has to fight them, or any of the credible HWs, otherwise he'd be labelled a fraud. Haye won't get a better contract than the one he was given last weekend. Against Wlad, Vitali, or any other HW for that matter.

The only reason Vitali "would" fight Haye, should Haye still want the fight, is because Vitali, unlike Haye, is a true fighter. But he could easily slam the door on Haye. Who has got his chance, but didn't take it.

I think you will find that most people are giving Haye **** for not fighting the Klits. There has been multiple posts on it already.

Haye will get a better deal now than he would a year ago. He also has a better chance of winning. Is that simple enough, or do I have to draw a picture?

Haye has to fight one of the Klits. It's inevitable. Being that his is the case, he might as well make sure he's in the best position from a financial and competitive point of view.

Why? It's a fact of lfe. Those two are in their mid to late 30's. Wlad has had over 50 fights. Neither one are getting any better, which means they are slipping away from their primes. That's common sense. These guys are out there to win and to get paid. Haye's actions are putting him in a position to get more money and putting him in a better position to win. It doesn't matter if some guys on an internet forum don't approve.
