Why is Haye getting a pass for ducking again?

I don't give a **** about Haye. He might be scared out of his mind, I really don't know or care. I do know he's going to get more money by waiting, and I do know he's giving himself a better chance of winning. Last year he was begging these guys to fight him, now they are begging him to fight them.

If he wanted to fight a Klitchsko he's had chances plenty. He wants money and recognition, and it's sad because he could probably give a good fight and at least make it entertaining. But with fans who still back the guy instead of demanding a real fight he will choose the easy way. Why not?

When Holyfield came up to heavyweight he fought 7 heavyweight fights in 2 years to get to the title and win it against Douglas. David Haye has had 3 heayweight fights in 2 and a half years. You really expect him to improve at that pace? Face it, Haye has become a part-time fighter.

Playing the waiting game leads to obscurity, rather than more money. Vitali will have one more fight after Soso, afterwards he'll retire.
Wlad will fight Povetkin (high profile fight), then, Adamek. He'll fight top fighters. Haye will be left fighting no hopers in contention for the WBC. That won't raise his profile. Should have made the "furore" regarding winning the WBC belt count. It will die soon, like it did with Valuev. Then there's no way Haye will be getting ANYTHING close to an even deal.

Yes, he will improve because he's getting more comfortable at the weight. Ideally, you would like him to fight more often. However, these fights are helping.

You can believe your post if you want to, but you're wrong. I believe The Klits have already stated that they're willing to do a 50/50 deal.

Why? It's a fact of lfe. Those two are in their mid to late 30's. Wlad has had over 50 fights. Neither one are getting any better, which means they are slipping away from their primes. That's common sense. These guys are out there to win and to get paid. Haye's actions are putting him in a position to get more money and putting him in a better position to win. It doesn't matter if some guys on an internet forum don't approve.[/quote]

Thank you, Mr. Science. It's a fact of life that when people get older they slow down. Brilliant. My point was that what got people excited about Haye's challenge was that he said he wanted to fight the brothers straight away, no? He didn't say: I'm going up to heavy, winning a paper title, and then I'm going to sit on it until they get old enough for me to beat.

How excited would you have been to hear that instead of Haye's claim that he wanted to challenge Wlad after the Barrett fight? Well, here we are....Going on two years later and not a sign that that fight will happen. I'm not saying you're wrong. Haye is clearly stalling. I'm just vexed as to why this impresses you? Because it's logical? If we wanted logic we'd watch chess.

P.S. It's not some guys on a forum that don't approve. In case you failed to notice, the younger and less experienced fighter from the UK, Amir Khan, beat Haye to HBO. Home Box Office apparently wants nothing to do with the Hayemaker unless he takes on a Klitschko. Anything to say about that?:D

Wlad was very willing. But Wlad won't be so willing again, especially after the... "back injury" that canceled Haye's first attempt.
It would actually be a BIG credit to the Klitschkos if they actually accept to fight Haye after all this ducking. Cause nobody with true ration would blame them if they didn't.

David Haye no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his fighting the Klits. He talked all of that crap and backs down on the 3rd opportunity to fight one of them. I hope he is not surprised when no one wants to hear his bull**** anymore.

Financially, what Haye has done makes tremendous sense. I still think he's a ****ing idiot for the running around games. Though he'll get a better deal than the one he was offered, I'd be surprised by 50/50.

I think we'll have to reserve judgement on this one. In all honestly, I think Haye has hurt his chances with HBO, possibly even ruined them. Khan got Ko'ed in 51 seconds a year and a half ago and he still beat Haye to HBO.

The Klits already said they're willing to do 50/50. You can call Haye whatever you want, but it's hard to call him an idiot. The buzz for this fight has only gotten stronger, he's getting more comfortable at the weight, and he's got a stronger bargaining position. These guys don't fight to satisfy internet posters who will tear down any fighter for any reason they can find. They don't fight for bragging rights, they fight for checks.

Thing is, Haye can still make money without the Klitschko brothers by holding the belt hostage. If he wants money alone and doesn't care what a piece of **** he looks like after talking trash for so long, he can just keep fighting mandatories, etc.. That said, the big money is made by taking big fights... and I hope he fights the Klitschko brothers before they're too old for it to even matter.
