Haye deserves to be ranked #2 (behind Wlad and Vitali). If you look at boxers who move up a weight class who have accomplished a great deal at the lower weight class...it only takes a good win and they will be ranked highly amongst the top 10 of the higher weight class. Valuev was that good win...Ruiz was the mandatory, he needs another big win next time out to keep his spot though.
I don't know, man. Never even seen Ali do a double punch like that, let alone the whole maneuver. But it seems like there's a torch passing going on here of a sort and if Valuev trusts him with a crunkerhook...Maybe he can pull it off. Eventually. Valuev must see himself in him. ...
Povetkin inheriting the crunk from Niko?! This fighter, this fight.. is crunk. Meanwhile you got Teddy Atlas crunkin' it up in the corner. Sick. :smoke

It's not that Haye has done anything truly remarkable, moreso that Chagaev and Povetkin haven't either. One could argue that Povetkin's best win is a greenish Chambers and not alot else. While Chagaev's meaningful wins were 3/4 years ago and has a one sided stoppage loss to Wlad thrown in the mix aswell. It's close but I think Haye just about deserves to be classed as the 3rd best heavyweight right now. We'll see what happens in the next year.
Well I'll concede that the poll showing a clear majority favors Haye being ranked higher than Povetkin demonstrates the rankings are legitimate. Still, I think people are allowing the paper belt to sway their viewpoint. I wouldn't say it isn't close. Nor would I say that Haye's cruiserweight victories shouldn't be taken into consideration. But Haye is unproven. He hasn't faced anybody big in the division except Valuev (Ruiz was definitely not Top 10 when Haye fought him). And Valuev has done nothing since then...for all we know he may retire soon! Chambers, Chagaev, and Povetkin have a better record of accomplishments in the heavyweight division...what Haye has going over these guys is more recent wins and the WBA belt. If Povetkin loses to Wlad, and Haye wins against whoever he fights this Fall, and Chambers/Chagaev stay inactive, then ok fine Haye is #3. But really in order to prove he's the best Haye should fight a major contender--Adamek (this is the fight everyone wants to see), Chagaev (get ready to watch Haye duck him as long as he can), Peter, or Povetkin. Fight any of those guys Haye--none of them have a significant size advantage over you.
though i think haye is a ***** waiting to be exposed, i can't see any problem putting him at #2. truth is hw is full of bums and wannabes.....
