Why is Haye so Inactive?

Wlad has double the fights Haye has.

He is a smart guy and does not want to be punch drunk by the end of his career. He also has lots going for him outside of boxing, and in the same way that Floyd does, he fights for himself, not his fans. Quite frankly its up to him how often he fights, not us, considering its potentially his life on the line.

 

I think the same. Hes a playboy bless with good athletics and skillz. When I think about haye i think...***** who only wants to retire. Hope Wlad help him with that.

 

Because no one has actually answered the question asked I thought I would.

Haye has had problems with his hands for quite a long time so in the past few years he needs to take time off in between fights.

Also he stated numerous times that he was taking more time between his early heavyweight fights as he wanted to put the weight on correctly. You may notice his legs, neck and head are much bigger, I am guessing to improve punch resistance.

Also he did fight lots in the early years but stepped up the level of his opponents quickly, therefore you need more time in between fights, rather than the 30 fights hatton had before stepping up in level.

To the guy who asked why Haye didn't beat adamek at cw that was due to the fact that they weren't there at the same time. Mormeck was number 1 not bell, then enzo was seen as the other top fighter in the division.

seems like most of the upper tier heavyweights are. but vitaly was active for a while after coming out of retirement...peter, gomez, arreola, johnson, solis.... who am i missing?

briggs! thats it! yeah, vitaly won me over with the arreola fight...punching coming forward, backing up, lateral movement...he was throwing punches so awkwardly and from so many angles that i told my wife to keep watching til he brings out some elijah tillery kicks!:yep

 

I think it's better, at least I think name wise his top 5 victories will include more from his comeback.

 

Haye is a star when it comes to putting bums on seats, he does not need to fight every three months. If you look at mega fights they normally take at least six months. Haye fought for a world title in his 11 fight. If he struggled to sell tickets he would fight more often.

It is reward vs work, Hayes reward figures are way higher than anybody else in the heavies. As far as work goes Haye wins, his only defeat came when he was green, so as a fighter he still feels immortal.

If he gets beat soundly by Wladimir then Haye will ask the question, am I fighting enough, training enough, good enough.

He would be a better fighter if he did get beat from a boxing point of view because that is when you see if guys can raise their game and get better.

Heavies for the past decade do not fight regular enough, so it is not a Haye problem but a division problem.

 

Because he is in danger of being knocked out in every fight.

 

For me it's mor like reward vs risk. Haye realises he has to protect has to protect his chin very well, consecutive hi fights as few as possible imho.
