Why is Haye so Inactive?

When you go ppv and title fites you need dates and a lot of promotion time sure he could fight once a month for peanuts or spend a few months on advertising and earn millions every 6 months

 

Haye knows if he fought too many HWs - especially younger and more dangerous one - the risk of losing would go up exponentially. And a single loss would shatter his earnings potential. So Haye stuck to boxing low-risk near 40-year old nobodies at HW that posed very little risk (Harrison, Ruiz etc.) and then going for a high risk - high reward fight with Wladimir.

Haye knows if he fought a series of 5 young HW contenders he'd probably get knocked out down the line give his average chin and wide-open defense. It's just a question of statistical probability. That's why he doesn't fight much and when he fights he tries to make as much money as possible.

Not exactly a born fighter who lives for the sport (like he always portrays himself) but it makes sense from an economic point of view.
