Browne who is rumored to fight briggs for the wba title says "at least briggs isnt afraid to fight anyone. haye is a dog"
Haye knows he has a fragile jaw. Any KO loss will be instantly stopping his comeback attempt short. So he handpicks his opponents very carefully: - no punching power - have a decent rating with the sanctioning organizations That's all that matters to him.
Haye is an elite talented fighter ,its very frustrating because i personally think he would defeat Parker if they fought Dec . instead of Ruiz. Haye has speed ,power and experience and has only one loss as a HW to Klitchko, these things you cannot ignore .
His heavyweight resume is poor. And he's very reluctant to step up. The manner he fought Klitchko was not that of one who wanted to win the fight.
In no way is this a defence of Haye but has Browne totally lost his mind? Who has Briggs fought post getting his face rearranged by Vitali Klitschko? He's called plenty of people out for a final big money payday but he's yet to attempt to earn a shot during his current run. What Browne means is that he thinks he can actually beat Briggs whereas he knows if he faces Haye he ends up on Davey boy's highlight reel face down and beltless.
His resume is by far more impressive than Browne or Parker ,he was 210 pounds in the Wlad fight ,he is now about 230 which will serve him well against the bigger guys because his speed is still there . Im not sure why hes not stepping up ,it usually has do with an injury he may not be disclosing .
His resume is poor. Also, the injury talk has been going on for years. He simply does not want to fight but is looking for a cash out without having earned one.
Tbf i dont think its hayes fault. The problem is hes stuck fighting on dave a very small time tv channel. Doesnt generate enough money to get decent fighters to fight him. Hearns not touched him cause hes got joshua. With hearn having the sky tv deal. It kind of leaves haye out in the cold atm. Add to that hes pretty much a danger to anyone in the division. So he needs to either pay up the money he doesnt have or go through the process of becoming a mandatory. Hearn doesnt want joshua to fight him...not yet anyway. Cause he knows hes still dangerous. Even shannon briggs apparently priced himself out cause david haye probably cant even get on sky sports without fighting an eddie hearn fighter let alone pay per view. He d probably be better just fighting bellew. Waiting for a mandatory to come along. Think hes signed with boxnation in some kind of deal so should see his opponents moving to a better standard now than the last two anyway. I still dont get why joshua couldnt have fought him on december the 10th if they were serious about fighting klitchko. Bearing in mind klitvhko beat haye then he had 3 years in retirement with an injured shoulder. If joshuas as good as hearn says he is...then its a no brainer really. Instead of price or molina on pay per view.
A - He has a name B - He is (very) marketable C - He is a SMALL HW D - His chin is in question E - His power is elite (although I think it is reflex and combo based) He will pay to his strengths and avoid challenges that would really test him. Joshua has quick hands but slow feet. Haye could nail him and get him out of there. Anyone who is a box-mover-puncher (like Luis Ortiz) or who is live and game (Briggs) will be avoided.
Haye is all about the money, he wants to cash out v Aj on ppv in the uk without taking any risks, I mean he has now ducked Briggs ffs.
David Haye is probably far more realistic about his current abilities than the legions of idiots who think he's some major force and threat to the best HWs on the planet at the moment. He'd probably lose to anyone decent so he's looking for the biggest payday possible. That will be AJ is his mind.
Haye has always been about as much money for the least amount of risk. He's picking guys with good looking records but without much skill and punch resistance, and makes his way up to a massive payday in which he will probably fail miserably again.
