Why is Haye the early (heavy) betting favorite over Chisora?

@ 4/9? Chisora a 5/2 underdog?

How does that make sense?

Am I wrong, or do their heavyweight resumes dating back four years - since Haye moved up from CW - not stack up thus:





Haye

• TKO5 over financially and socially destitute, unmotivated, out of shape Monte Barrett

• MD12 over Nikolai Valuev, in a fight where he barely threw any punches until one infamous combo in the very last minute

• TKO9 over shot Ruiz

• TKO3 over even more shot Harrison

• L, UD12 to Wladimir Klitschko - not remotely competitive. Horrible cowardly negative performance.
  

Chisora

• TKO6 of unbeaten Sam Sexton

• 7 consecutive wins over journeymen, 5 of them by stoppage

• TKO2 over still serviceable Danny Williams (never before stopped that fast)

• TKO9 of Sexton in the rematch

• L, UD12 to Tyson Fury - close but clear

• UD6 in a tuneup against a professional distance-goer.

• L, SD12 to unbeaten Euro champ Robert Helenius in what has universally (outside of Finland) been deemed one of the worst robberies of the new millennium

• L, UD12 to Vitali Klitschko - wide on the cards but with a game and gutsy performance that didn't make it easy for Vitali and actually outperformed him statistically in a few rounds, which is rare.

So yeah, Haye has the "prettier" HW record against big name opponents since 2008: 4-1 (3).

Chisora - ignoring the journeymen - has a much less impressive on paper 3-3 (3).

Looking beyond the official results, though, and factoring in all circumstances (quality of opponents, form against, etc.) - I don't see how anyone can rate Haye's performances at heavyweight above Chisora's.

All three of Chisora's losses raise his profile more than any of Haye's HW wins raise his, IMO. :conf

Each lost to a Klitschko - but one actually fought whereas the other ran and flopped. Granted Wladimir is the bigger puncher and more dangerous overall fighter than Vitali and more to be feared - but there is no excusing the tactics used by Haye against him. Chisora's performance against Vitali has to be viewed as more laudable, although it was nearly as wide a blowout on the cards.


What is Haye's signature performance in a win over a good heavyweight? :think

Chisora has one, unofficially, against Helenius.

Would Haye have beaten Helenius? Would he have done so as soundly as most people had Chisora doing?

Based on what?

When did Haye ever beat a good heavyweight? Not a once-good heavyweight, not someone holding a world title hostage, but a CURRENTLY good heavyweight?

Based then on their styles? :huh I actually see it inverse.

 

He's faster aye, but Haye isn't going to hurt the much sturdier-chinned Chisora laying his little traps and dropping occasional bombs; he'll be begging to lose on activity & aggression.
