Why is Haye the early (heavy) betting favorite over Chisora?

Helenius would NOT dodge a single shot thrown by Haye. He'd walk right through the hardest punches the man could muster. Wlad otoh doesn't have the whiskers to slug it out and had to fight timidly, keeping his distance and always looking for the counter.

As for power......I'd say one punch concussive......very close. But Wlad definitely has the edge in the thudding jab.:good

 

Looking respectively at their Heavyweight careers, you can more than make a case for Chisora having a good chance. But I tend to think that Haye doing well at Heavyweight as well as as being a top rated Cruiserweight and the fact that stylistically Chisora matches up very well for Haye IMO means Haye deserves to be the betting favourite.

I expect Haye to win this on points.

I feel the same way perhaps they were basing it on the fact that Haye got better of Chisora in Germany? Must have.

 

Haye would beat Helenius landing more damaging shots than Chisora did IMO. I think Wlad was more cautious than he should've been and Haye learnt he can take a punch from the best of them at Heavyweight in that fight, and so did the bookies.

I'm not writing Chisora off as he has heart and has proven he has a steely determination about him and a solid chin. However, Haye is faster, hits harder and has a better defense than Delboy, he's a rightful favourite IMO.

 

I'd say the wins over Valuev & Ruiz are decent enough in this very poor era of Heavyweights for a contender. Not including Audley in that obviously and the loss was a poor one but I'd consider either of them wins to be on a par if not slightly better than Chisora's over Helenius.

Valuev. Chisora's durable but nothing special offensively and will struggle to mount enough effective, points scoring attacks vs. Haye. And if Wlad didn't stop him, Del Boy's not.

Haye's relatively low output has been shown often at Heavyweight but his speed/use of angles will see him have a highish % connect rate I reckon and will rack him the rounds up. You never know he could stop him late but I'll be looking at betting on points when the odds for it come up.

 

Anyone who has been rattled to the core by Sam Sexton deserves to be a betting underdog.
