Why is Haye the early (heavy) betting favorite over Chisora?

Vitali did fight Chi$ora with one arm and still won handily, but the Haye ring rust is going to make him vulnerable. I make it even.

 

Makes the whole of that sham fight look even more pathetic. People expected Haye to drop Wlad with first few hayemakers that landed. But when he realized he couldn't hurt the weaker chinned klitchko he reverted to flopping down on his hands and knees claiming fouls. He pretty much gave up after the last 4 rounds, you could see it in his face. The last flurry in the 12th was greatly exaggerated in my opinion.

 

Haye is a former world champion who brings speed and genuine KO power to the table while Chisora is a guy who talks a lot and a has a good chin but his best win is a loss :thumbsup

 

Why didn't saliva face just cut off the ring and knock him out then? After all he does have better footwork.

What are you complaining? If you believe Chisora is favorite then it’s just better for you that betting company professionals disagree with your weird opinion.
Go make some money, unless of course, you are afraid that your opinion is based on bias and dosent have any real value

 

Because most people dont know **** about boxing frankly.

 

1. Haye is more skilled - He has better footwork, better upperbody movement, better headmovement, is very hard to hit

2. Haye has far superior handspeed, and greater power

3. Haye is rarely gunshy against men his own size, Wlad & Valuev were abberations, not the norm

4. Haye is a counter puncher, and Chisora's rather crude, wide punches will provide the perfect oppertunity for Haye to hit him often

5. The more athletic, rangier, possesing better ring IQ Wlad was rarely able to corner Haye, Chisora will not be able to

HOWEVER.

Chisora has a style that is potentially problematic for Haye, see - the fragommeni fight, however I think a fast-handed hard hitting heavyweight is also a style that is problematic for Chisora

Chisora has a better HW resume, but that doesn't negate any of the above

Haye knew Wlad had a shaky chin and spent the entire fight (very impressively) slipping his punches in order to land something big to knock him out, he in essence was relying solely on his punchers chance

He knows Chisora has a GOOD chin, he is going to have to get his respect early on (not that he is going to come out swinging bombs, but Chisoras 'lack' of reach and handspeed will mean Haye will find it easier to let his hands go

It will turn into a war IMO but Haye will take it

 

KO power displayed against poor opposition tells us something as well. It's not like fighters like Ruiz or Barrett falls over just because you look at them funny. Haye will trash Chisora so badly it aint even funny.

For the betting odds, I do believe it is simply because Haye is good at marketing himself.

In terms of how the odds should be, based on in-ring analysis rather than perception, I would say even or a small nudge in either man's favor is acceptable. Both men can give the other problems, but I have to go with Chisora for the reasons outlined. Thing is, I wouldn't think Haye would take a fight at this stage in his career that he wasn't sure he couldn't win -- this falls into the distortion of perception, though, albeit in a different manner than what I referred to earlier. Perhaps he sees something we do not or he will devise a game plan to keep safe and cruise to a victory (as in the Valuev bout).
