I would say that it has got more pre fight coverage in the British media than any fight since Mayweather Hatton.

    Why??????????????????????????????/

Both big names in this country and there's a PPV to sell.

Its Heavyweights, 2 names people have heard of, both good talkers and Sky are throwing their weight behind it.

It is Heavyweights, and they are both known to the public.

Me and Gaz literally posted at exactly the same time. Talk about great minds thinking alike.

I mean, we went a LONG time without a heavy champ

I suppose a dust up between two Brits for a heavyweight strap is still a big thing

And Audley was a really big name after winning Olympic gold

That said not a single person has mentioned this fight to me, actually maybe one lad has

So it's nowhere near Hatton-Floyd yet, everybody was talking about that

Is it getting much press in the UK outside of Sky? No need to explain why Sky are hyping the balls off it.

But is it though? I dont actually think it is.

Theres a PPV to sell so Sky Sports is doing its bit, but i dont think its being rammed down anybodys throat to be honest and its getting NOWHERE near the press Hatton Vs Mayweather got. The papers arnt hyping it up and neither is anyone else other than sky sports who arnt even going full throttle

Everybody watched Hatton vs Mayweather from hardcore boxing fans to teenage girls. Some people have only seen one proper fight in years and that was Hatton vs Mayweather

Heavyweight's are a major in any country and so it is for the UK.

They will maximise the capital they can get from this fight, and they are doing a pretty good job of promoting it.

Harrison is doing a great job of promoting it, Haye is unusually quiet. I didn't think Harrison had so much charisma but he's been really entertaining in a slightly foolish sort of way. He's growing on me, as a personality. Still a **** boxer and i fully expect him to get KO'd quickly.

I'm not sure it is, it started off with a fair bit of exposure then seemed to die off a bit.

Of course Sky are going to be pushing it, but outside that I wouldn't say it's been getting ridiculous amounts of attention.

It's certainly not in the Hatton vs Mayweather league, imho.

Having said that, it is getting a lot of attention for such a diabolical match up, the reasons being those already stated by others in the thread; HWs, both known names etc...

to be honest, i think more people mentioned the valuev fight to me than this one.

i haven't seen anything in the actual "press". it will probably pick up over the next week

Yeah, Haye-Valuev was a much more promoted fight. EVERYONE knew about it. Haye was everywhere promoting it. I think deep down he is embarrassed about this fight.

Yep, I think Valuev with the 'freak' aspect captured the attention of the press more.

its getting a lot of attention, mainly in the press that will stand to make money from the PPV sales
