Im sure you've worked out its a pet hate of mine when people say everyone. If somebody said 'everyone' voted for Obama, they would be corrected as wrong, but on here its ok and accepted. Why?:huh

I want to say its the language of the fool but , giving the benefit of the doubt I think its something to do with being individuals conversing in a group. I mean some folks can think they're gettiung ganged up upon and thus " everyone " is against them.

Then again maybe they are just idiots !

Take it easy Deal , I'm off home !

I would love to see Floyd vs PAC. It just makes sense....closer in size to one anther...one is the current P4P king the other is the previous owner of that title (1 yr removed).

Both faught DLH...both won. ANd I do favor FLoyd however it's not a given. PAC is very much a live dog...maybe a slight underdog but none the less PAC can beat Floyd as could floyd beat PAC.

It's a toss up. The only other opponent for Floyd that has a chance at beating him would be the man you have in your avatar, Paul Williams.

Paul and Manny have the ability to beat floyd for very different reasons but also for some of the same.

The Physical advantages that Paul has over most oppoents at 147 is always a factor! Not to mention his underrated skills and relentless pressure. I'd favor Paul in this fight with Floyd.

Pac has equal speed, more power and just as much stamina, if not more than paul. His movement and improved skills would make it a difficult fight for Floyd to win....not saying Floyd couldn't win but it would be a very difficult test...even moreso than his fight with Castillo the first time.

I'd love to see Floyd vs PAC...and I'm a fan of both.

The sentence that begins in the thread title. I didn't read the rest of the OP, seeing as it's wwm I assumed it was a bunch of Paul Williams trumpeting. :yep

People are overly eager to crown anyone who makes the tiniest splash in his weight range the conquering hero Mayslayer. :nod

Marg has always been seen as the answer to Floyd...even before his win over Cotto. Remember, Marg was seen as being avoided at 147 when Floyd came up. And FLoyd was hit unfairly with "ducking" charges by fans and media alike.

Cotto was also seen as the man to beat floyd although I never bought in to that notion...I didn't even beleive Marg was the answer to the Floyd Mayweather puzzle.

It wasn't until PW came on seen that I felt that Floyd had any real comp.....then this past Saturday came and now we have anther viable threat to Floyd IMO.

Maybe it's because people want to see Floyd get beat so badly. But I certainly don't think Manny is the answer.

Cotto definitly had the skillset to beat Marg. He just didn't have the right game plan and his conditioning was not up to the level necessary to sustain 12 full rounds of boxing.

Cotto decided to BANG with Marg when Marg landed...instead of kept to what was worknig...using the jab, giving angles and counter punching. His PR PRIDE was his undoing. It's evident that Cotto's skills were more than enough to out box Marg...just watch the 1st 5 rounds.

    Other way around, IMO.

Marg is more vulnerable to a fighter like Floyd than one like Cotto.

No problem there. I agree, but many of the fans in boxing who questioned Floyd throughout his career felt a fighter like Marg would be the answer to the FLoyd Mayweather Jr question. Like I said.....never bought in to that. Stylistically Floyd is a nightmare for Marg...Unlike Cotto...FLoyd can and has boxed for a full 12 rounds against aggressive sluggers in the past.

The only welter that has a really good shot at beating FMJ is FMJ. If he were to come in underprepared and take anyone in the top 15 or so lightly, he could land in some serious trouble. He's not known for doing that, however.

I agree that both Cotto and Williams present more trouble for PBF than Pacquaio can give.

But Pacquaio offers the biggest fight for him. The current p4p king against the former p4p king, it would be huge. And it would still be competitive, entertaining fight for sure.

For the most part I understand your stance on this. FMJ worse enemy would probably be himself in the ring. However....no one is invincible and no one is unbeatable. For as seemingly perfect floyd is in boxing he has flaws...everyone does. Floyd just has less. But Paul williams I'd pick over FLoyd at 147 and I'd give PAC a very good chance at beating floyd at 140. Floyd maybe the favorite but those two opponets are viable threats to his undefeated record.

It just shows the true impact he had on the sport and what he said way back when has came into light.

No matter how much the boxing public dislikes him, he was a good thing for the sport and all this talk and speculation is just what he says ... "once I leave this sport, I will be missed"

Now it doesn't come in the form of hey Floyd needs to come back but its like - Floyd has unfinished business, he needs to come back.

He is retired and will remain retired until he says he's coming back ... he might not come back ... he might just feel comfortable with his current situation.
