Why is it that all the sudden Floyd Waits for Fighters To be Damaged?

Just curious about this... the HBO broadcast crew said this after pacquiao margarito....

when in floyds career has he ever specifically waited for a fighter to be "washedup?"

he called shane out 4-5 years before the fight was actually made
    same with ODLH

I'm searching for clarification on this....

errr....i think they'l find its actually who does this not Floyd.

He fought Hatton who was damaged by Floyd

He fought Cotto who was damaged from 2 brutal wars with Margarito and Clottey.

He fought margarito who was damaged by Mosley.

Now hes fighting Mosley whos also damaged by Floyd.

HBO need to stop sucking Pacs **** i think.

they were referring to the floyd-pac match-up and how pac has been taking on wars while floyd is on vacation. it's probably their way of taunting floyd into getting the fight made.

It's largely a reference to the perception that Floyd's 0 means everything to him. If waiting a year or two gives Floyd a better chance of keeping the 0, then it might make sense.

Calling out fighters and getting in the ring are two different things. One takes a mouth. The other a strategy.

LOL. I agree to some points, BUT hatton beat Milinaggi (however he spells it) in between fighting Floyd and Pac, and looked good.

    As for Floyd.

Floyd Mayweather beat Judah who came off a KO loss
Floyd Mayweather fought Gatti who should have been a vegetable by now
Floyd Mayweather fought Shane Mosley, who even though beat a walking punching bag like Margarito...is 38 freakin years old!
Floyd Mayweather JMM...Who he made move up 2 weightclasses, and still never made the weight, AND is an old man himself.

Some of the people you mentioned might have been in wars, but at least they weren't pushing 40. Also Mayweather is typically making the smaller man move up (at least while he's been at WW), and Pac on the other hand has been moving up. Of course Mosley will be old whenever Pac fights him, and I won't give him much credit either.
Mayweather hasn't fought **** since DLH.

Judah wasn't coming off no damn KO loss and when the fight was signed, Judah was on a win streak. The baldomir fight was meant to be a tuneup.

Gatti was the damn champ when Floyd fought him and was on a winning streak, plus the fight was made by his promoter Bob Arum so if you have a problem with it, blame Arum.

Mosley was coming off 2 KO wins including one over a guy who "Mayweather was supposed to be deathly afraid of" Mosley was supposed to be a real challenge who Floyd was scared of until he got schooled.

JMM was a stuneup over the p4p#2 fighter coming off of 2 ko wins. Yes they were LW but it was tuneup, and a fight which Marquez asked for. Of course he had to move up, just like Pac said that Marquez would have to move up to 147 to face him as well.

Mayweather could agree to fight Bradley 27 years/ 27 fights, Khan 24/24 or Berto 27/27 and people would start to say that they are washed up.

What wars? A static Clottey and a slew of damaged, weight-drained, on the slide gatekeepers. Sorry Cotto - loved you in your prime but...

Because fans wait for Floyd to fight them before anointing them "damaged goods."

    Actually...that's more Team Pac's M.O., of late...not Floyd's.

At this point, Floyd would never get away with dragging fighters out of relative obscurity (Clottey/Margo) for a match. He HAS to choose fighters in good standing, for anybody to take the fight seriously.

Pac, on the other hand, has an entire country of loyal supporters behind him, is always perceived as the 'little' guy, in a 'David and Goliath' affair, and has a fan friendly style...so, he has been excused for picking fighters who are on the slide, IMO.

You mean Judah signed two contracts to fight?

A tune-up with Baldomir and a championship fight with Mayweather?

That seems strange because you might lose the belt or lose badly like dominated then KOed badly.

That is an absolute example of looking past his opponent. I heard of boxers talking about their next opponent like the one they are going to face is a foregone conclusion, but damn, signed a contract?
