The dilemma of posting here before big fights: Your excited about the fight and want to talk it up, but there is never more misinformation as just before a big fight.

    Why is that?

People want to hype up their fighter so that they can rub it in afterwards when they're right (or run away never to be heard of again if wrong) :yep
Pretty sure it happens with every sport,,,,but the difference is that typically with other sports an at least "somewhat valid" point can be made, whereas on this boxing forum it can sometimes just be completely ridiculous what people come up with. I dont think I need to list examples....:-(

It's all moot, the fix appears to have been fixed, Mayweather's judges, commentators, media and very important, Mayweather's referee.

big fights bring clarity to the sport, it's kind of like an extermination of ignorance, but like a real exterminator it scatters all the vermin before they die.

People get hyped up, too much in a lot of cases. Just the ol' adrenalin kicking in, even for someone sat at a keyboard that happens.

....and after it would seem. there's too much nationalism floating round the general board these days.

True, but the general levels of spastication are unaffected if, say, two americans are fighting. What's astonishing is no-one seems to pay any attention to what's happening on the board, a four page thread on page one entitled "Will There Be A Rematch" won't stop some ****ing idiot starting a thread entitled "I think there will be a rematch!". It's like guys don't want to write in other people's threads or something.

Basically I stay the **** away from General in the week before and the week after unless it's to start a totally unrelated thread. Which is a shame.

Id say after a big fight as well. There are three or four ******s on here who have absolutely flooded every thread for the last few days.
