Weighing his options? The man is holding the division hostage. He has not fight 3 times a year since 2001. I wouldn't be surprised if we dont see him fight till Mid 2009.

Margarito's fought Clottey, Williams, and Cotto in the space of 2 years. Along with himself, their probably the top 4 147lb fighters in the world right now. Williams moved up, but he was established at 147 as one of the leading fighters with a win over Quintana and Margarito.

i agree, he is taking his sweet time, but Margarito is not scared of any fighter, past or present.

because they don't want to admit the truth and find an excuse on not to answer the question but to blame it on someone else.

He turned down the fight because he was not willing to risk what he thinks will be a bigger payday in a rematch with Cotto, or his shot to fight Oscar...Problem is the fight with Cotto isnt going to be worth more then 4 million because of the way that the first fight ended with many feeling that Cotto quit. Oscar said that he wouldnt fight him unless he fought and beat Williams which was really saying he isnt going to fight him.

truth is Margo has options for fights, but not options that will pay him between 2-4 million. A fight with Shane would be huge and they know it, it could be held on the west coast and do huge numbers in terms of on-site fans, I think close to 24,000 if its at the Staples Center...It would also do well on PPV...Cotto isnt going to do that well on-site because to the distance. If you move east with the fight you cut down on the numbers of Mexican and Mexican American that would attend the fight, if you hold it on the West coast you would cut the numbers of the PR and PR American fans that would be on site. If you hold it in the Midwest you cut down on the prices that you can charge at the gate...Beleive it or not but the largest part of boxing money come from on-site fans and not PPV fans, which is what makes the fight between shane and Margo a bigger money fight, plus the fact that we dont know what will happen, with Cotto we have an idea.

The truth is that Margarito for years saying nobody wants to fight him and that he is the most feared fighter. Well Mosley and Williams wants to fight but not Margarito. I understand the reason but some fans turn around and say Oscar and Floyd does the same thing instead realizing that their favorite fighter is doing the same but doesn't want to admit it. Thats truth according to me do you have a different opinion?

Margarito was right, nobody wanted to fight him. Not out of fear, but for financial reasons. He knew this, but by saying they were scared, perhaps he hoped that would lure some top dogs into taking a chance against him.

Margarito already fought Williams. Mosley's stock went down considerably in his last fight.

I criticize Floyd for not fighting any top Welterweights, and that is all. Margarito has fought the 3 best 147lb fighters in the past 2 years alone.

My opinion is that Margarito is weighing up his options. Mosley is shot, and he has already fought Williams. He'll go in another direction.

All this cherry picker talk is embarrassing to the posters who are saying it.

[/quote]Man o man how the stories change..When Floyd fought Baldomir what was he??? When he fought Judah what was he?? No your just making excuses...floyd didnt fight alot at 147..Four fights was it, in those four fights he fought Mitchell, Hatton, Judah and Baldomir..that is a p4p top ten fighter at the time in hatton, the undisputed champion in Baldo, and a guy that was ranked in the top 5 even after his lost to Baldo and Judah who was Cottos biggest win until his fight with Shane..

he didnt fight Margo or Cotto but it was like they didnt have thier chances..Dont forget that Margo was offered the day that Judah got, and floyd asked Arum to make the Cotto fight...His haters claim that the Margo fight was short notice..true but misleading, Margo was already in training for a fight that was close in dates. Tell will say that Cotto was Green which once again is misleading.

No you bashed floyd because you dont like him, and you excuse Margo because you do like him its that simple, stop making excuses and admitt it, you will fell better.

I'm not going to argue with you, just because you're wrong in your conclusion. I don't have a particular taste for Mayweather's attitude or his boxing style, but I criticised him for not taking the big fights at 147.

Put every angle you can on it. Collazo beat Hatton at 147, Judah is a gatekeeper now, and I'm not even going to get into Baldomir.

Mayweather claimed he was better than Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali, but didn't give us fights with Cotto, Williams, Mosley, but instead; Hatton, Baldomir, and Judah. I don't like that.

I give Margarito the benefit of the doubt because he has already fought the 3 best 147lb fighters in the world.

    It's as simple as that.

P.S And didn't claim to be the best fighter that ever lived.

Give a hater enough rope and they always hang themselves:hey

Did Margo say: "He is pissing his pants at the thought of fighting me" to shane?? Then he turned down the fight for what reason MONEY. MONEY??? WAIT didnt he say "I fight for pride, its not about money"

Yet you say that you dont like that Floyd says he was the best but didnt fight the best:bart

Nah man, that isnt the right answer..Come one just admitt it...Its ok that Margo bitched out cuz you like the guy..Its like a fine as chick taking you drink at the club...Oh go ahead baby...As opposed to a fat skink taking your drink "What the **** are you doing, you better put that **** back" the both could make you pop you just like one more then the other so its ok that the hot one took your drink:rasta

Although i agree that Margo is going to have to pull his thumb out in the near future, keep it to one thread. You just sound like a petty broken record making ridiculous threads like this. If Margo rematches Cotto next year and doesn't at least fight Clottey or Williams, we will know his long term intentions, and then you will have genuine cause to call him a hipocrit and discredit him.
