  1. to me , he was not that good .

Yes, he beat a pastprime Ali , 1 that wud've smoked him in late 60s.

Yes, he beat Ellis, ( a shitty cute boxer with negative skillz), Bonavena who was 1 shitty slugger,
a bunch of club fighters like stander and Mathis .

He did beat Quarry X2 who i give credit 4, but it is still suspicious .

    Frazier, way overrated.

    Thoughts?

Frazier is a legitimate ATG heavyweight champion during the "golden era" of boxing with wins over all top contenders and The Great Muhammad Ali.

The only two men to beat him were eltie ATG's, one being the greatest. He beat the greatest ever convincingly once, and the rubber match they almost killed each other. Foreman, a stylistic nightmare, took him out twice, having to knock him down a dozen times to do so. Even then, he still wasnt out. He was stopped on his feet.

How many fighters can convincingly beat Ali?
How many can even go life and death with him?
How many fighters can get up from a Foreman bomb?
How many fighters can get up from several?

They were the only two guys to beat him. Two of the very best ever. Everyone else got swarm-****ed by Frazier, including the Greatest HW of All Time.

He is only 2nd in his style to Henry Armstrong. On paper the style is not really suited to the HW division, i would say. Or altleast less suited than it is at all the weights below.

Though a short one, his resume is pretty much stacked, from only one year into his career onwards.

I don't need to list his attributes as you all know them, but i would he is the epitome of a fighter and a champion

  5. no one is trolling i am serious y is frazier such a great fightr??? his resume is PAPER THIN , only reason he is even held up there with the ATGs is becuz he gave hell to ali , who was very limited himself aswell .

Well said. I do think that Tyson would have beat him but aside from that I agree with everything you have said.

Many people try to undermine Frazier's win over Ali as if Ali was rusty and past it because of his layoff, but like you said: the best we ever saw Ali was the night of the FOTC. Never did he look so good before, and he never looked that good again, despite having a phenomenal career long after the FOTC.

The fact is that Frazier was a war machine that would not be denied. Frazier was simply AWESOME.

    he didn't whoop Foreman

  8. so w8 a second

u r going 2 give creds for Frazier getting up so many times against Foreman ??? Who gives a **** ? in the end he still lost?? I guess Holy shud get extra points , since he never even got knocked down by 1 greater and stronger version of foreman .

As 4 Ali , yes he beat him once , next time HE GOT OWNED . PERIOD . THEN THE NEXT TIME HE WAS POTSHOTTED INTO OBLVIION AND "RETIRED" ON HIS STOOL.

    1 more thing , 1 gem on is resume is joe bugner , a good euro-level heavyw8 , and 1 big heavy .
Only reason bugner was ever took seriously , was becuz he went the distance with ali and frazier- oooh how amazing

Joe Frazier was a very small, blind in one eye and pretty limited HW.

  10. Agreed M8! Wud get schooled by either klit-bro , and owned by the likes of sam peter, haye , adamek, lotsa fighters from today!

only thing frazier had was 1 left hook, sum limited predicitable headmovement, and heart of 1,000 lions .

other then tht he was garbitch

If you are trolling, mission accomplished.

If you legitimately believe what you're saying, then you should read more and talk less.

Frazier was beating Ali when the fight was stopped in the 14th or 15th round. I don't remember the exact reason for it being stopped, but Frazier didn't want to stop. I think his trainer stopped the fight because he felt Frazier had taken enough, but either mans corner could have stopped it and it would have been ok. I don't want to see anybody get killed or dismantled in the ring. For you to say he got "whooped and potshotted into oblivion" is simply not true. It was another war like FOTC, with Frazier going in with a few handicaps of his own and being past his best, but what a terrific performance he put up that night.

He didn't quit on his stool like a coward, the man fought 14 life and death rounds with the greatest and as far as I'm concerned he was winning the fight.

Aside from the Klitschko brothers, Frazier would have knocked out every guy on that list very early. David Haye would not see the end of the first round against Joe Frazier.

    Define limited.

Ali said he was the hardest boxer to hit ever. Joe Frazier had surreal, superb head movement. He was a dynamite puncher with a left hook from hell. He only lost to two men. Ali, the greatest heavyweight of all time, and Foreman, a man who's style was made for a swarmer like Frazier.

The only people who I can envision beating a prime Joe Frazier are: George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Vitali Klitschko, Larry Holmes, the Muhammad Ali of the Cleveland Williams fight, and a prime Mike Tyson.
