Gomez is just as worthy to fight for a belt and maybe moreso. Look how many eliminators Gomez has had to fight in. Nothing came of it? That's because Vitali did not want it to. Gomez has been begging for the fight. He's also earned the right to fight for Vitali's belt so either VK will fight him or give it up!
No you miss understand me, i personally think Gomez was a better Cruiser than Haye and he also has earned his shot at either Klitschko imo. Its just that the fight forwhatever reason has not come off.
Wlad has Povetkin as a mandatory. Vitali's schedual is more open at this time at Haye might think that Vitali will be a big tune up sor of for Wlad. I dont really agree that Vitali is just a tune up but Haye might see it like that.
yea i originally thought haye got vitaly and not wlad because of povetkin, then i found out that povetking needs a tuneup and won't be ready for some time, and obviously wlad had the time as he has scheduled arreola.
i read here that wald has signed for the fight (arreola) maybe its still talks and i also read povetkin ain't ready anytime real soon
Vitali has a mandatory of his own in a very capable challenger Juan Carlos Gomez. Vlad also was not so busy that he is booking a non mandatory challenger in Chris Arreloa. Funny how both fights are scheduled for next June! Vitali v Haye, Vlad v Arreola. Why not Vlad v Haye , Vitali v Arreola. If they are both taking place in June/ July why not?
Noone seems to want to admit that Vlad could easily make a fight with Haye if he wanted. Haye just has the right mix of skills to beat Vlad and WK knows it. Young, Good Skill, 6'3 , Confident, power and speed all equal a tough fight for Vlad. Everyone including the K brothers know it.
that is what i'm tending to believe (that the klits also know this and that's why vit is taking haye now and jumping at the chance).
Corey Sanders dusted Vlad and Haye has many of the same attributes. They are both tall, fast and powerful. Other than those similar attributes Haye is better in every way. He's in better shape, he's younger and he has much better boxing skill. Sanders weighed 225 vs Vlad and he was still soft. I would venture to say that based on builds Haye is bigger and stronger( Sanders would not be this big and ripped if he lost 10 pounds of fat when he fought Vlad).
it's hard to argue your point about the haye sanders analogy. against guys without the attirbutes you mentioned, wlad dominates but he hasn't fought many guys w/ the speed, power, and ability to deliver as you described
First the wait in line comment came out right before Wlad fought Ibragimov and wlad still had mandatories to contend. There was Tony Thompson and Povetkin who were already lined up to fight Wlad so there was a line...with that said the line has gotten shorter but Haye's fight was lackluster against gatekeeper Monte Barret... Haye got out boxed but had more fire power. Same as Chris Areola when he fought travis walker! I say those two fight and the Winner gets a shot at Wlad...
Why, both of these guys are credible enough for title shots. No need to waste it on eachother. Btw, Haye would easily beat Arreola.
Several things. One, Wladimir has to fight Povetkin and Dimitrenko this year, two men who have proven more at heavyweight and are more deserving of a title shot than David Haye. Two, HBO has been very keen on pushing Arreola. He is an American with a high KO ratio and has been on HBO a number of times. Max constantly pushes him, as does Jim on occasion, so that is their thing. They want him and they are going to ask Wlad for this favor, he is more beholden to the RTL money but I am sure the HBO money doesn't hurt. Vitali hasn't been on HBO in a long time, and Haye has never been on HBO, it just isn't marketable enough for them.
