fighters move up in weight class and it is talked about, people wonder how the power, speed, etc. will carry over to the new weight. Often, it makes a difference in the fighters performance/attributes. But when Mayweather moves up to take on the #1 guy at 154, it is seen as an easy fight. Like Mayweather said, Cotto was cheated once and drained the 2nd loss. He is a damn good fighter that would prolly beat anyone in the division. I look forward to seeing Cotto in the future, a Mayweather loss is nothing to retire about. I think Mayweather is the better boxer and his power will carry and he will still be faster. I'm just making the point that moving up in weight can be very difficult for some, but people expect Mayweather to go up in weight and still dominate. There was a time when people laughed at the notion of Mayweather going up and taking middleweight, now they say Martinez is the only guy that has a chance. I think it says alot about mayweather AS A FIGHTER. Having said that, I think Mayweather is a disturbed individual.
So, we've established that you think Cotto was drained by weighing in one pound less than on his last fight, at the time. Good man. Cotto is undefeated, in principle. Money will have to dig deep for this one. Hard and deep.
everytime mayweather has moved up in weight , he is basically fighting the same size guy as he already is, a guy that also is or has just moved up in weight. he isnt taking the true solid guy at that weight floyds moves up in weight 2002 - 130-135 fights Castillo (Castillo in his 3rd weight class, started at 126) This content is protected 2005 - 140 to 147 makes 147 debut over 50 fight veteran of 135 and 140 lbs sharbma mitchell) This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
