Even if what you say will turn out to be true America is so far ahead of Ireland in terms of boxing history that it would take 500 years for Ireland to catch up.:deal BTW PR still owns you.

What does that say about Ireland that PR has a much better boxing tradition than your country does? Also Ams have nothing to do with pros so who gives a ****?
I wasn't comparing anything I said that you shouldn't talk **** about American boxers if your countries history isn't in the same Galaxy.

it means PR have a very strong boxing tradition too, per population Ireland ,PR and Cuba are the heavy hitters of world boxing. Just like cuba most of our top fighters never turn pro unlike PR which gives them an advantage.

America can no longer compete from 160 up and there boxing infrastructure is rotten and its showing by the lack of talent coming through today. If you actually cared about boxing in your country you would be pushing for reform and a better am's system instead of dreaming about the good old days when America basically had 90% of all active pro boxers:smoke

am's have nothing to do with pro's lmfao. 95% of all top pros today were top class am's or else turned pro so early they never got the chance. Its this 'the am's don't mean sh.it ' attitude which is the main contributing factor to the downfall of boxing in America.

And please can you keep that attitude because I love it, its only making you worse at boxing and you can see I love that:lol: keep it up pimp c, its like your working for me ,keep saying the am's don't mean sh.it the more people you convince the happier il be:lol:

America is suffering at those weights because of two reasons one boxing gyms in this country are closing at an alarming rate and two the talent pool of that weight are playing in the NFL and NBA if you're bigger than say MW you gravitate towards those two sports. I know you won't believe it because you don't really understand how it works here. Guys who are smaller much too small to really play football or basketball will find other sports like boxing. That's why there's still talent here in the lower weights.

With that said the boxing history in this country is without peer and will continue to be so for many years to come.

blah blah blah that nlf and nba argument is idiotic, they have been around for decades, rugby union went pro in 1995 there is more of an argument for that taken away talent and even I consider that idiotic argument. The fact is your amateur system is on its knees and your attitude of 'the amatuers don't matter' is a huge factor in that. Please keep that attitude because its exactly what I like to see:smoke

your am's get whooped at the lower weights too its embarrassing, Mexico has a better am programme than you and currently put America to shame, there success will continue

Yes but didn't really get mainstream popularity until the 90s with Jordan. You don't understand the draw of the NBA to the youth of this country you don't live here so I wouldn't expect you to.

Not nearly as much as when Jordan took over. The NBA finals in the 80s were still on tape delay and not always broadcasted live. Jordan changed sports forever in this country.

its a complete straw man argument, you don't know how popular rugby union has become since the mid 90's. and no one uses that as an excuse, fact is you cant compete any more because your am's system is in tatters and you got guys like you facilitating that by saying ' the am's don't mean sh.it'

A lack of interest will leave your system in tatters. With that said the pro game and the am game are different and just because you have success in the ams doesn't mean success as a pro. For example, I always knew Spence would be a much better pro than an am he has a pro style.
Lastly you're right, I have no idea about rugby union and its popularity in your country so you don't see me commenting on it do you?

The rest of the world is catching up though. In the NBA Allstar game this year you had the USA Rookies vs the World Rookies and the World team beat them easily. There's a lot of talent around the world in basketball especially in Europe.
